Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Confusing signage and after driving round to the car park there was a sign saying the boardwalk and the park were closed (due to construction I think)
This isn't mentioned on the website!

We walked up the tower for a good view and saw some manatees in the water below.

Nice if you're nearby.

During the week in Feb. when I was visiting the area, I had a chance to walk down the road and over to the park. We were looking for the manatees who, when it is chilly out, come to hang out in the waters of the park. Alas, not a one on the day we had walked over. It is one of many places in the area to get a good walk in and to also view pretty scenery.

They were too far to see much more. This place was not on the schedule. Glad we ran into it even though it was raining. I really don’t understand why I have 105 drafts on trip advisor like this one from a few years ago

Park close to Pine Island- worth a quick stop because Manatees swim in the waterways close to the edge so it’s a nice peaceful way to view them. There is a wooden lighthouse tower that is easy to climb with short steps that gives a nice viewing point. We saw a mom and her baby swimming around and our kids were able to go right up to the water’s edge and see them. It was amazing! The park itself is clean with bathrooms and some picnic facilities. Some open areas to run around as well. Some nice little trails into the wooded areas that we hiked into to get close to the water on the other sides but nothing adventurous. Highly recommend even if just for a quick stop driving by.

My husband and I spent last Saturday at this amazing park off the beaten path. There were dozens of manatees that actually swam right up to the dock. They even came up out the water as if to greet you! Not terribly crowded and plenty of space to roam around. Loved climbing the huge tower which had beautiful views of the gulf in the distance. Highly recommend!

My husband and step son joined me on a kayaking adventure at the park.
We kayaked to the golf of Mexico on an easy self guided paddle. There are mile markers in case you get lost. We saw a few dolphins playing during the paddle. We also saw many manatee gliding thru the water right next to us! The water temperature is very warm due to the underground springs that feed it. ( this is why the manatee live this area). There is a great park where you can picnic and view manatee from foot bridges and along the shore line. Good time.

Came across LPP during our month long driving touring around FL. It’s off the beaten path, but that’s the fun of avoiding the main roads, you never know what gems you might come across. LPP was impressive, huge free car park; free entry; waterside boardwalk; observation tower; fishing area; kayaking; canoeing and Manatees in winter apparently (didn’t see any in Nov 18 - still too warm I guess).
The park is well maintained, clean and tidy and is a great spot for relaxation and to enjoy some outdoor activities. Wish I had more time to spend here!

We love this park - for it's a great place to paddle (rental boats are available if reservations are made in advance); there's a very small tiny beach where swimming is allowed, a tall tower to climb and see the views, a fishing pier, and during winter months you'll see lots of manatees - especially from a canoe or kayak. There are also picnic groves and lots of free parking as well as free entry. Bring water and/or a picnic lunch. Bathrooms are near the beach area.
