this is by no means a complete history of the island but definitely recommended for anyone staying on Captiva to understand some more about the island

A great place to spen an hour or so to learn the history of the island. Interactive activities for all ages. A must see.

I have only lived on the SW coast of FL for 7 years. But I find the history fascinating down here. Visit this place and it will get you started on that same feeling - I believe.

This is an excellent place to come if you're interested in historical facts about the area. The Historical Society has put together an exceptional presentation of facts and photos that will answer many of your questions. A very enjoyable visit.

We stumbled upon this exhibit while visiting the Captiva Library. It was very interesting learning the history of this area. The display is interactive, beautiful, and very well done! It appeals to all ages.

This is a lovely historical exhibit with old glass plate photos from the early 1900’s, a movie, and stories from historical people on the island. We enjoyed it very much.
