- GrandTour074427212131 contributionWedding Day at Tree ChurchMy now husband and I got married in this beautiful place. The weather may not be as perfect as we wish but owners Bev and Chris made sure that we will still have a beautiful outcome on our wedding day. We are so grateful to them, they have been so helpful and accommodating all throughout. It was a good decision that we chose this place, they are so nice and the place is so perfect especially for photos. Photos that will be cherished forever. Thank you Bev and Chris. I will definitely recommend you guys to all my friends and families who are planning to get married. More power and God bless!Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 December 2023
- NyssaSylvaticaKurow, New Zealand2 contributionsAn absolutely beautiful garden. The TreeChurch and Gardens is such a beautiful garden with great energy, a very calm and peaceful place. It is impeccably maintained and has the feeling that is looked after with great care and pride. A great place for a picnic and some wine sitting under lovely established shady trees. There is a Monet pond with water lilies there, a Japanese inspired garden and pond, some very unique Himalayan Birch trees, and an impressive perennial garden among other beautiful gardens to wander around in.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 20 January 2024
- Paula M1 contributionAmazing venue! My daughter got married at the Tree Church this year (February 2024). What amazing venue!!! We stayed at the accommodation the night before which we found very peaceful and relaxing. It was lovely to wake up to beautiful views and to be all ready at a venue. Bev and Chris were the best and could not have done enough for us. We would totally recommended this very special place!Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 February 2024
- Pioneer5920731 contributionWould recommend, a magic place. The Tree Church and Gardens is a magic place. Beautifully maintained gardens, with a unique and exquisite Tree Church. Despite it being a wet day, I still thoroughly enjoyed my visit with our Garden Ramblers group. Will definitely visit again. Would recommend. Especially if you are looking for a wedding venue. It is such a great setting.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 13 March 2024

Beautiful and peaceful place! We had a family day out n had our picnic there, the garden is beautiful and quite with birds singing, the Treechurch is a great place for wedding and portrait. Highly recommended for everyone. It would be a good idea for a half day out of noise and busy life. Bev is lovely!

I tagged along with mum's gardening group, not realising where we were going. Wow! I had seen this on social media but had no idea it was just out of Ohaupo!! Such a spectacular church!
The rest of the garden lends itself to a good old ramble.
If Barry is around he's extremely knowledgeable about all the tree technical names, and has a neat story of how this all came about!

Visited with my Gardening Group on a very wet day. This didn't detract from the beauty of the garden and enhanced the gorgeous trees. This is more an arboretum that anything else. The Tree Church is a work of art and will get better with age; a unique experience. The labyrinth is a calming experience and the flower garden a delight. Well worth a visit

Highly recommend visiting and seeing the extraordinary gardens, clearly a huge amount of work has gone into developing and maintaining these exceptional gardens.

I'm sorry but I was not super impressed. The $20pp charge (with no discount for seniors) made me think there was lots to see. Apart from the church and the small Monet garden, the rest was nice, but for $20 I was expecting more. Carpet roses weren't pruned/deadheaded, the pond had 'murky' water and was in need of a top up, and there were some weeds which had obviously been growing a while. The garden is nice and peaceful, but is smaller than expected with lots of trees and shrubs but little colour.

1 star ⭐️ for the church, Lovely Church but certainly not worth $20 entry fee. Would not recommend it. The rest of the garden was below average and the veggie garden was non existent

I was part of a private group that visited the gardens and Tree Church today on a beautiful sunny October day. The gardens were looking lovely with new growth on all the trees, azalea mollis in full flower looking magnificent water lilies coming into flower, and the perennial garden was starting to look good too, with irises just starting to flower. A very peaceful spot and I can imagine a wonderful place for weddings with many suitable spots for wedding photos. We sat in the Tree Church and heard from the owner how he had developed the gardens, using large trees that he planted as the basis.
It is only open on Sundays during the summer months from end of October to end of March, like many gardens in New Zealand, and children under 12 are not encouraged. Definitely a place of tranquility. A couple of resident cats to enjoy too.

Nestled in the lush Waikato countryside this creative garden is a visual feast.
We picnicked in the groomed grounds.
The living chapel exudes reverence and peace.

This is a really lovely garden. Well worth a visit. Only open Octoboer to March - Sundays at 10.00am and 4.00pm or by appointment. Mine was a private group visit. A very informative explanation of the church. The gardens are beautiful.
