We took a couple of friends here in Naples for the Dolphin Explorer tour. This was our second time. The staff on the boat are excellent, knowledgeable, and very friendly. We saw probably 16-20 dolphins, far short of the probably 50 of last time. But, watching dolphins and hearing all about them is very entertaining. Many Osprey, beautiful boats, and gorgeous scenery were icing on the cake. There also is time designated for shelling if you like that. I highly recommend.

We learned so much about dolphins and how they recognize them by their dorsal fin. The staff were so knowledgeable. They have named the dolphins and they explained how they do it. When a certain dolphin came up out of the water they would say who it was and you could tell how much they loved them. It was such an amazing day!

My daughter and I had a really fun day on the 1pm dolphin study with Captain Eddie & Bob. We saw 7+ dolphins and 3 of them played in the wake behind the boat. We stopped and admired beautiful shells on the beach including a decent size hermit crab. It was a really great trip. Highly recommend.

Bob and his team ALWAYS deliver. This was my 5th (and surely not my last) trip. This time it was my daughter and 11 year old granddaughter (their 4th trip). I guess you can say it’s a Marco Island tradition.

These folks collect data on the Dolphins of the Marco Island area. They identify the individual mammals on a twice-daily basis and report their findings (births, number of individuals and location of the sightings). They also have a very popular Junior Marine Specialist (dont know that that’s EXACTLY what they call it) that awards the kiddos a patch for completing a ‘test’ that everyone passes.

This is the BEST dolphin tour. It’s a participation in a world renowned dolphin study. We saw 13 dolphins & recognized them by name & genealogy, fascinating. Guides are informative & passionate. Highly recommend. We will return multiple times when guests come to visit.

Great Trip. We saw 12 dolphins, able to identify 8 by name. My 6 year old will have a lot to share with his class. The crew was great: Captain James, Bob and Jennifer! Thank you for a memorable experience.

This was an absolutely amazing experience!! Not only were the crew members SO friendly and knowledgeable (made up of a marine biologists and two naturalists), they also made it so interesting and interactive for our kids. Each child was given a pamphlet on dolphins to fill out as well as a binder full of pictures identifying each dolphin by their unique dorsal fin. Our kids loved being “naturalists” and identifying the dolphins! We had over 18 sightings, many of them calves that came right next to the boat. The icing on the cake were the dolphins playing and jumping in our boat’s wake!

We also received a complimentary family photo and three shelling bags. Truly, this couldn’t have been better!

I’ve been on the Dolphin Explorer many times. Each time I learn something new about the dolphins and the 10,000 islands. The boat is clean and roomy for everyone. The Naturalists onboard are a wealth of knowledge. I recommend this trip highly for all ages.

Great experience. We learned a lot and saw 15 dolphins including a “play date” of 4 moms with 5 calves. We will definitely be back.

The number of dolphins we saw was incredible! We saw between 20-22 and in those were 6 pairs of mothers and babies! My grandkids loved it! The crew were awesome!! James, the marine biologist couldn’t have been better. He explained so many things to us and you could just hear the excitement in his voice. He was great with everyone, connecting with each separate group. Jen, a marine biologist in-training, was wonderful as well. She made sure to talk to everyone individually and provided us with many interesting facts as well. The captain kept us on course and safe.

This was our second time on the tour and I learned a lot more this time. My granddaughters, 6 and 9, said this was their favorite part of their week here visiting!
