Amazing first time deep sea fishing trip. Capt. Billy and First mate Jesse are Top Notch. Ten stars.
Jan 2025 • Friends
Captain Billy and First Mate Jesse made my first ever deep sea fishing trip AMAZING. There were six friends on this trip and everyone caught fishes. Yep we all caught fish. We were told our group caught the most fish of the day for all fishing boats out that morning. Way to go Capt. Billy and Jesse. This was a 10 star trip.

Just spent three days crushing the bottom fish with Captain Billy and First Mate Jesse. These guys are amazing and worked really hard to assure we caught a lot of quality fish. This was the most grouper, snapper, amberjack, and bar jacks that we have ever caught. Thanks again for making sure that our Key West fishing excursion was amazing.

I went out on a full day fishing charter aboard the Linda D V with my father this past Monday. Our captain for this trip was Captain Jay and our first mate was Patrick. We were set up to leave Charter Boat Row at 7 AM and actually ended up arriving around 20 minutes or so earlier. After a short talk with Captain Jay we pushed off early and were quickly trolling for some fish. Whenever you book the boat they ask what you are looking to catch and I had noted that starting out with some mahi before trying for something bigger would be nice although anything was good for us. Even if it was by coincidence, we ended up following that script exactly with some mahi on not too long after getting the lines into the water. We ended up getting mahi on a number of times throughout the day which was nice. First mate Patrick talked to us throughout the day and worked hard making sure that there wasn't any seaweed on any of the lines. With the amount in the water that day he was almost constantly bringing one line or another in to get rid of some seaweed it had collected. That seaweed also meant that we couldn't fish with any wire which was a problem later in the day whenever they thought that they had a wahoo bite. Unfortunately we never did end up getting that big fish on although it wasn't from the lack of Patrick and Captain Jay trying to get us one. At the end of the day we ended up with 11 dolphinfish caught and 3 more that we had let go due to them being small. Overall it ended up being a fun day for both my dad and myself and we left with a bag full of mahi which would be dinner that night for our group.
The bottom line for me is that I wouldn't hesitate to book with Linda D Sportfishing again in the future. We caught a number of mahi which was nice and they tried hard to land us that bigger fish which both my dad and I appreciated.

The dude that set the poles and everything was great, we loved him, just only 1 keeper and then nothing for the 8 hrs or 6 hrs of fishing. We spent alot of money between coming down to the keys to fish, between hotel, gas, food, and the trip on the boat it was around 4 grand, and then the captain says we can go back in a couple hrs shorter and mentioned that we can just give it to the fish mate for a tip. Which he was great, bit to me no walking away with a cooler full of fish! Then we the customers should get atleast half off the tripod a offer to go back for like 200 bucks or something!

We have been fishing with Captain Billy Wickers over 8 years and is always a great time. Billy is an extremely knowledgeable captain (4th generation key west captain) and will always do everything he can to put fish on the boat. We always leave with fish. His first mate AJ is the best there is. This tag team will give you the best experience on the water and best opportunity to hook up some fish. 10/10 recommend these guys you won’t be disappointed.

We have fished with the Linda D on 4 other occasions. When we booked we talked with Bill Wicker and expressed our desire to fish with him only. The last time we booked with the Linda D we requested Bill Wicker and he told us that would not be a problem, unfortunately when we got to the boat we were told that Bill's son's birthday was the same day so he had a replacement captain. Wouldn't you know this time Bill didn't show up again and sent a replacement captain in his place even though we called and talked to Bill the night before the trip and he never said a word about not captaining the boat. We spent $1480.00 for a full day of fishing with Bill Wicker and for the second time in a row we got someone else. Fishing was poor and may not have been better if Bill Wicker was the captain but we will never know for sure. We could have paid less for a full day on the water with many other boats in Key West but we felt we would have our money's worth with Captain Wicker. Very disappointed that he did not tell us the night before that he again was going to stand us up.

Jesse and The Captain were so spectacular for our Miller-Wischer family. It was not 5 seconds before we started catching yellowtail snappers per their recommendation, in addition to groupers, grinders, and a huge barracuda! A truly unforgettable experience and Jesse and The Captain worked their tails off the whole time. A 20/10, as my sister in law said. We ate the fish at a local restaurant after, Kaya Island Eats, and it tasted so delicious.

Recently had a day on the water with Captain Jay and Jesse. Captain Jay got us out quick and kept us on the fish. Jesse worked his butt off running the lines and keeping our hooks in the water. We had about four hours of fishing time and pulled in 8 mahi keepers and threw back 3 others that were under sized. They were phenomenal to be on the water with and I would recommend it to anyone.

Billy and Jesse each greeted us with enthusiastic and genuine appreciation for the opportunity to take us offshore to catch some fish. We wanted a half day trip and received great advice as to the best use of our time. We caught a ton of fish while both Jesse and Billy assured out tackle and bait were constantly ready. We HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY Recommend Linda D!

I took my son fishing on the Linda D 5 with captain Billy and Jesse as our deckhand. I fished with Jesse before and he’s the best deckhand I’ve ever dealt with. Billy put us on the fish in a way I would’ve never imagined. My son and I caught five sailfish during the day, including an eight footer that my son caught. We also had a stack of mahi for supper at a local restaurant when we were done. If you’re looking for the trip of a lifetime, I can’t recommend any stronger that you check out the Linda D 5.
