I saw a post that went viral, which was about this place. I thought to myself people are really crazy why would they do that? So then I looked up and got to know that its for a good cause and awareness of breast cancer. After that I obviously has to visit there. If you are on a road trip to Queenstown, it will be on the way.

Just down the road from the Cardrona Hotel is the famous (in New Zealand, anyway) Cardrona Bra Fence, where thousands of brassieres flap merrily in the breeze. It started as a lark during Christmas week in 1998, when four anonymously donated bras appeared on the fence; no way of knowing, but we'd bet alcohol was involved. Anyway, by February there were 60 bras on the fence and the local council had them removed. That, of course, started a cause celebre, and there was no stopping the phenomenon. Now the fence has become a fundraiser for breast cancer research, with a collection box for contributions. Many of the bras are remembrances of breast cancer victims, with their names inscribed.

Traveling from Arrowtown we stoped here. I don't know how much hanging bra and after rain and sun, stinky bra can help to anyone but there was donation box for Breast Cancer Foundation, which can surely help much more. Anyway it was interesting somehow.

It's certainly worth a stop, when you are driving from Queenstown to Wanaka. The colourful display of bra's hanging from a wired fence is not something you see everyday. I don't know how much this actually does for awareness of breast cancer, but it doesn't hurt it. A photo-op it is for sure.

The Bradrona is next door to the Cardrona Distilleryand last year it raised over $64K for NZ Breast Cancer Charity. If you visit this is pretty impressive. Leave a bra if you can but even better, make a donation for a very worthy cause.Thoroughly recommended.

A row of bras hanging on the fence, maybe not too special but unique idea, do not know who started this display. On the mid between Queenstown and Wanaka through Arrowtown, people usually do quick stop and take photos here, or some female visitors add another bras to the fence. For the good cause there is donation box for Breast Cancer Foundation.

We drove past this whilst driving the Crown Range between Wanaka and Queenstown and couldn't quite believe our eyes, so we had to detour back there the next day to get another look. Once there we realised it was for breast cancer and so I too donated a bra!! Great idea and a novel way of attracting attention and fundraising - I hope people give and not just stop and stare

This was featured on NZ TV while we were on holiday there. It is a fund raising thing for Breast Cancer Research and there is a collection box there. The bra fence has been in existancr for several years apparently, but it's certainly not something you see every day! Visitors can attach their bra to the fence if they wish. An unusual photo op. There was a steady trickle of visitors while we were there and there was also some sort of professional photo shoot taking place.
