Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Saw it on Facebook and thought I'd love to see it face to face. Glad I did it. Hung one of mine there too. As a breast cancer survivor myself, I think it's important to raise awareness about it.

This is the equivalent to a NZ roadside attraction. If you like roadside attractions, this is an easy stop. If you don't, then just skip it. It is exactly what it looks like - a fence with a bunch of bras on it. There is decent parking for easy access. I recommend the stop, but you should have a pretty good idea if this is your type of thing or not.

Worth a look, it’s on the way either going to or from Wanaka. Just on other side of the distillery. There is a donation box (proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Foundation) 🎀 , which is checked regularly and goes to a good cause. 5 min stop, good to stretch your legs or take in the views.

Just down the road from the Cardrona Hotel is the famous (in New Zealand, anyway) Cardrona Bra Fence, where thousands of brassieres flap merrily in the breeze. It started as a lark during Christmas week in 1998, when four anonymously donated bras appeared on the fence; no way of knowing, but we'd bet alcohol was involved. Anyway, by February there were 60 bras on the fence and the local council had them removed. That, of course, started a cause celebre, and there was no stopping the phenomenon. Now the fence has become a fundraiser for breast cancer research, with a collection box for contributions. Many of the bras are remembrances of breast cancer victims, with their names inscribed.

The bras have been moved since our last visit to a fence on the other side of the carpark. Last time we were distracted and missed the distillery visit - this time we made it. It's interesting that so many women are prepared to dump their bras there. I saw on the Aussie show "Travel Guides" that two of the ladies removed theirs on the spot when the visited - not a pretty sight! But worth a giggle I guess

A row of bras hanging on the fence, maybe not too special but unique idea, do not know who started this display. On the mid between Queenstown and Wanaka through Arrowtown, people usually do quick stop and take photos here, or some female visitors add another bras to the fence. For the good cause there is donation box for Breast Cancer Foundation.

I wouldn't travel half a globe to see a fence with bras, but if you are passing by, stop for a few pictures. I didn't find any explanation about the origin of this place at the spot, neither on Wikipedia.
The fence is about 30 meters long, so don't expect too much. No tickets to see this place needed, this is a part of a parking lot at the alcohol factory near by.

There is an ever-increasing number of ways people are coming up with to raise money for breast cancer. This bra fence draws attention to the need for all of us to help find fund awareness, treatment, and research to eradicate cancer. This particular disease is one close to my heart. I have had relatives die of cancer, including my mother. For the past 20 years, I’ve been involved in raising funds for the Cancer Society, including contributing all the royalties I receive on books I have authored. The bra fence is very inspirational.

There's not much to say about looking at a fence in the outdoors with bras hooked all over it. It's a fence, they're bras. Move on people.

BRADRONA ... make a donation, take a few photos for curiosity value, but then look up into the mountain directly BEHIND this area & see if you can spot the SHPG - Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground - for car testing. You will see some tracks/roadway etc but I'm told there is a tunnel up there for controlled car testing.

Hello Goldfish.:)
So you have the exact location of the bra fence? I would love to visit the place too. But my tour guide says the only one she knows is at Blackball. Is it the same as this one? Thanks.
