New Zealand's only North American sled dog team now offering trips with traditional Arctic sled dogs in the Southern Alps of New Zealand. Fleur and Curt have run dogs since 2000 and trained and raced full time in North America since 2007. Our Kennel of 30 dogs are traditional North American sled dogs, Alaskan Malamutes, Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Huskies. The same dogs used for racing and traditional purposes in the Arctic. Most of our dogs are veterans of the North American race circuit, including traversing 1000miles of Alaska and Canada in both the "Iditarod" and "Yukon Quest". The first and only NZ team to do so. Come meet these phenomenal athletes and feel the thrill of driving them. We offer the following touring options: - 1hr "Basket Ride" and "Drive Your Own Team"- Night Run - Overnight - Summer Kart Tours - Custom Tours / Packages. If you want to follow our race team you can do it through out Team Facebook page: Itasca NZ Sled Dog Team
