Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were thrilled that there was a dog friendly beach but we have a problem with off leash dogs - not everyone using the beach wants a dog running up to them. It was a perfect place to relax and watch the day go by. The bathrooms were clean. We packed snacks and would have loved to have a food truck there. The water is a brown color; not unpleasant but if you are looking for the tropical blues this is not the beach for you.

This was a horrible beach. The sand was ok but the water is mucky and feels disgusting on your feet. The restrooms were gross and smelly, especially at the Big Deck.

Very small, online stuff said was a great place to come at low tide and check out the tidal pools. Problem was you needed muck boots to do that, and I'm not sure they would've stayed on my feet, LOL. Nearly took my water shoes off several times. If I stopped walking, I began to sink like I was in quicksand. The view across the water was beautiful.

I do not mind paying a little more in the wake of a hurricane, but gauging is not neccessary. $6 for a glass of watered down lemonade, $2 for a glass of water, with a purchased meal. Went to a TIKI bar and was not gauged, I was raped, $55 for three shots. The camber of commerce gave out incorrect information with regards what was open. Nice visit with a bad taste in my mind,

Cedar key Florida is a dump. Pictures are deceiving. Ocean looks like a river. Keep driving to Clearwater and beyond. We stop by thinking it might be worth seeing. Wrong

Clean restrooms. Small sandy beach is good for families. Has nice shaded picnic areas. Nearby parking is free if you can find a spot.

We enjoy the vibe in Cedar Key but we’re disappointed in the beach. The restroom facilities are new and nice but the constant flow of dogs on the beach was disappointing. Sorry, but we don’t enjoy having a dog pee next to our beach chairs bc the owner thinks he just wants to say hello.

There are only three or four restaurants in the area. They don’t take reservations, and everyone eats early to go to bed early so they can get out of the water early. Make sure you rent your rundown pontoon boat and golf cart well in advance.

Cedar Key is a very small, quiet town. If you are used to vacationing in more commercialized areas, this will be very different. Very few restaurants and they close early. Many places closed during the week. A few quaint shops, but again, short "open" hours. Beaches reminded me of being on a lake, not the ocean. We stayed for 5 nights and got bored quickly. The only thing I really enjoyed were the birds and dolphins that are plentiful to see.

This was extremely disappointing! During low tide, the swimming area buoys were literally sitting on the sand. Low tide time was the only time you can stand to be outside, because it’s the only time the no-see-ums weren’t biting.

They do have a nice playground for kids to play on.
