I’ve always enjoyed the special events at the Winterthur Museum. The yuletide displays are lovely and fascinating. The docent was very knowledgeable about the period pieces and the period in of Christmas displays. The cafes have a limited menu, but something for everyone, and the...More

If all you choose to do is tether yourself to the prescribed route of going to the Visitor’s Center to the shuttle bus to the museums/mansion, then you will have a very limited view of Winterthur. There are miles and miles of serene, paved and...More

Even if you have visited before, go back for the amazing vintage Christmas decorations throughout the house. And for a bonus, walk the garden grounds in the winter season: beautiful views without crowds.

Wonderful visit! Can’t recommend enough! My sister and I visit almost every year and enjoy it but this year was exceptional. They’ve changed up some of the room displays and our docent was, as always, knowledgeable and entertaining. The displays were outstanding.

We visited the Dupont House for the Yuletide at Winterthur Christmas Tour. It unfortunately is an average old, large home decorated for Christmas. I imagine if you wanted to learn more about the Dupont's it would be interesting. You get to see 2 floors out...More

A cab ride from Wilmington's Amtrak station should take 15-20 minutes. It can drop you off at the Visitors' Center. (The cafe there is quite good.) There is a shuttle that takes you to the mansion.
