Not far from downtown Wilmington this state park is a beautiful place to explore. There are rolling hills with plenty of woodlands and open meadows with plenty of walking trails in each terrain to meander.

This wonderful park has lots of space - open and wooded - and trails for hiking. I've never been there when it was crowded.

This state park offers miles of trails and views of the Brandywine River. Also ranger-led programs. I could wander here for hours and never get bored of the beauty.

Spent the morning meandering here. Very pretty and the trails were nice. Bring dollar bills -- parking was $8 and no one was at the booth so we had to leave and get change and go back.

Creeks but nothing to swim or boat in. Nearby Brandywine is better for that. You can tube or canoe that body of water.
