Hobbiton exceeded our expectations. The rolling hills go on forever and the scenery is breathtaking. There are time restraints for touring so be aware when visiting. Luckily we had booked the tour prior to leaving. Isabelle, our guide, was very knowledgeable and a self-proclaimed "Lord...More

This is an absolute must for any Lord if the Rings fan. Would recommend going early in the day to avoid the large crowds. My kids had fun, even though they had never seen the movies.

We are travelling with 9 people so we booked well ahead. We saw others turned away as all tours for the day were booked out. Great stories and commentary by our guide Cam. Highly recommended.

I can now see why tourists & NZers alike flock to Hobbiton - it’s fabulous. We booked online (not cheap at $84 per person for the guided tour only) and drove down to Matamata to take the Hobbiton Movie Set Tour - the sun may...More

It would depend on how mobile that person is. Hobbiton is set in the side of a hill, but didn’t seem hilly to walk around. There was a walk from the set to the pub where they serve a drink and the bus picks you up again.
