My wife and I went for a walk round Cumbrae on Tuesday and after just over five miles we eventually arrived in Millport. This was the first place we came to and we decided to sit outside for a drink. We were not that hungry so we decided to just have a snack. From the starters menu we ordered the chicken strips. What we expected was the usual pub fare of freezer to frier - what we got was lovely fresh chicken coated in the crispiest batter I have ever tasted. What a result. On top of that the staff were first class - friendly, chatty and efficient. Next time we walk round Cumbrae we will definitely go back. Well done guys.

I was in last week for a quick bite to eat at dinner time. The location is right next to the bus stop to take you to the ferry so it’s very handy. I went for the steak pie and it was lovely. It came with chips and a carrot and turnip mash. Very tasty! It was quite quiet when I was in so I chatted with the staff during my time and they were very friendly. The owner was telling me about a Victorian weekend that was coming up soon and some other festivals that take place on the island. It seems like a nicely run family business. I’ve read a couple of reviews on here for this place and I simply don’t believe a word of it. I think it’s best you check it for yourself. There seems to be something funny going on...
