Family holiday at Millport… first of all I’d like to say a massive thank you to all the accommodating kind and friendly staff at “on your bike” who couldn’t do enough or us! Being a family with a member having cerebral palsy and blind (33yrs) never been one for leaving him out wanted him to experience a bike ride and kayaking so set the shop a challenge…
Wow! They certainly delivered… they suggested a family bike and my brother sits in the middle of two members, my brother was attached to the bike wearing a life jacket.
My brother experienced a family bike ride for the first time loving the wind blowing on his face once we gathered up speed! As a family we have never giggled as much seeing how happy my brother was for this experience… 💙 honestly tears of happiness seeing the huge smile on his face!
Next was the kayaking…having a upper active body my brother rocks from side to side so I was a little nervous about this one…but again no disappointment, much to our surprise a member of staff actually assisted us in the water, wow talk about going above and beyond their duty!
My brother was able to feel the cold water running through his fingers and feel the wobble of the kayak on the waters being blind it’s important to keep other senses alive…
My brother sat so still on the kayak very calm taking the whole experience in… wiggling his fingers in the water a sense of freedom I should imagine.
(if only he could see the beautiful views)
And at no point did we ever feel rushed by the member of staff.
Thank you “on your bike” for helping create the best holiday memorise for my family I know I’ve never seen such a huge smile on my brothers face like that before and it was all down to you helping with new experience, for ever grateful!
We will be back! Xx

Gorgeous trip around Cumbrae in beautiful sunshine. We hired bikes for the family from On Your Bike Millport and received excellent service and a really clear pricing model. Highly recommend for bike hire and other services.

We had a fantastic trip to Millport today that was made all the better by a great bike hire from On Your Bike! The staff were very friendly and informative. I chose to spend £2 more for the woman’s bike with the basket and so glad I did because it was really comfortable and looked like new. If you are visiting Millport would highly recommend using this bike rental shop :)

KEEP WELL AWAY!!!
We visited this place with the family on a recent holiday.
The bikes were in a state of disrepair. Tyres were badly worn and brakes on the edge. They didn’t fit the kids helmets either so it was down to our guess. It came as no surprise when we were told that “We only accept cash payment”.
Biking is one of the highlights of this pretty Ireland and can be much enjoyed. There are two other cycle hire shops within a few meters distance. Don’t let your visit be spoiled.

Hi there. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your hire with us. All our bikes are checked and serviced regularly, if not daily, and the tyres are replaced as soon as they start to wear.
We are unable to assist too much with fitting helmets this year due to Covid-19, we follow the government guidelines of maintaining 1 meters distance at all times. We can suggest which helmets might fit, but as previously mentioned, we cannot physically help with adjusting helmets, but we are happy to explain and offer advice if you require.
Can you tell us the date of your visit please and your name so we can look into the details of your hire, including what bikes you had? We have all our customer records and bike details from when we reopened.
The store only opened in July after the passing of the owner so we were unable to get our card machine up and running this year due to the changing of hands and the new owners were unsure how long the shop would be open for this year. There are a few businesses on the Island which are cash only, however next year we will have the card machine up and running again.

We hired 4 bikes for adults and kids for the day.
The bikes whilst working were poorly maintained. Every bike was rusty, one kids bike had 7 accessible gears from 21, one adult bike's pedal constantly struck the stand and one child's bike seat fell off one mile into the ride as it had been set so high it was partially attached to the bike.
As I said, it was £10 per bike for the day so you get what you pay for.
Service inside the shop was poor, the person serving us was rude and abrupt, and didn't even offer us helmets. We had to return to the shop when we realised they were included.
If you prefer better maintained bikes I'd suggest using one of the other two shops on the main street.

Hi there.
We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your hire with us. All our bikes are checked before and after every hire, serviced regularly and when needed so we can guarantee they are all safe and suitable to go out. We were extremely busy that day, as we often are during the holidays and the bikes you hired were from our back store as our front store bikes were all out on hire already, hence the older style or frames, however they are all safe and suitable to be hired otherwise we would not allow them to go out.
We ensure that all the bikes are size and ability suitable for each individual rider. I cannot think how a seat fell off a mile into the cycle, if we had set it too high it would fall off right away or if the person on the bike needed the seat up so high, we would give them a bigger bike. The only way that could have happened a mile into the ride is if someone had adjusted the seat and put it too high. We do say if there is any problems while out on your hire, we offer a card with a phone number (which is on all the bikes also) to contact us so we can assist as sometimes, problems do happen out on hire and offer our breakdown service.
The helmets are in a large basket in front of the desk where customers pay, they are included in the hire and available if the customer wishes to hire one. They are not mandatory by law, it is the customers own choice, and often customers bring their own helmets so they do not need ours. However we do have them in front of the desk when you come in to the shop, available to take if wished.
I apologise if you found any of our staff rude, we are always complimented on our friendly and helpful personalities. We are extremely busy during the summer and try to manage queue lengths and customer service as best we can given the current situations, perhaps the staff member was under pressure and could have came across as 'abrupt'. We always give as much time with our customers as they need and offer any assistance.
Again, we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your cycle with us and hope our response clears some things up and for customers in future to know if there is any problems out on a hire, the customer can call us and we will sort it out right away.

As I was.pating for the hire of the bikes the boys in the shop were already wheeling our three bikes out front for us. Sizing spot on first time and a lovely run around the island.
We arrived approx 10.30am and were told we had the bikes until 4.45pm!! £12 each!! Brilliant value and helmet included too.
Would defo recommend On Your Bike if you're planning to cycle round Cumbrae seeing the sights

Fantastic experience. This was a random day out to Millport and cycling is naturally the best way to see the island. The staff here could not have been more friendly and attentive. Great value for money and my partner was enamoured with the vintage Tiger bike - she's now looking online for one! Well worth a visit.

Went for a day out with nursing staff from the Royal. This is the second year we have went and used On Yer Bike in Millport. Both times they have been fantastic. We hired bikes, the Flintstone Bike as we called it a mobility scooter allowing some of the not so young to get about more easily and the conference bike which I must say is so much fun but please have a good driver 😀 for this. Kayaking was also great fun to do as a group and on yer bike certainly made both our days so much fun so thanks to all the staff Highly recommend

We hired 4 bikes from on your bike Millport for the afternoon and the service was excellent. Reasonable price at £48 for half a day, staff were friendly and helpful when sorting out the bikes, checking they were at the right height for everyone and then asking about our experience on return. Would highly recommend 👍🏻

My sister and I took my two nephews over to Millport to cycle around the island. We chose the right place to hire bikes. Graeme, Lesley and team were amazing, nothing was too much trouble, it was an extremely busy bank holiday and although there were ques for the bikes their attention to each customer and what type of bike they wanted was second to none. They took the time to check the bikes before we left, made sure we were happy with them and all done with genuine care and smiles. Absolutely highly recommend them. Well done On your bike.

We can get extremely busy on sunny days and holiday weekends, but we always make sure our customers are happy and give them all the time they need before leaving the store to begin their hire.

Thank you for your response M.Owner. I feel the need to correct you on a couple of points - My telephone number was recorded on the hire sheet but I am not in possession of your own number. Each of the three hospitals I attended advised that a helmet should have been issued - and as a condition of hire. I haven’t blamed you for the incident but recommend some safety improvements following my experience. Just because it hasn’t happened previously doesn’t mean it won’t happen again. I also thanked your lady driver for taking me to the hospital at Millport and every member of NHS Staff that have thus far been involved in my recovery.

Having suffered a broken wrist in 5 places, surgery with metal plates and pins, extensive physiotherapy - I am still not recovered from this incident 19 weeks later. I am perhaps not going to obtain 100% recovery. It is sad that you have not followed this up.

Not hilly, easy ride as long as you have a cycle that works..lol
Usually around an hour but if you want a day out , take picnic and a camera, the views are stunning..also a waterproof as the weather is unpredictable.

Yes. You don't need to make a booking just tell them on the day how long you wish to hire them for. Check local shops for opening times. One shop is closed till 21 January for renovations.
