We fished Springs Creek Ranch with John Harcourt as our guide a few days ago. What an incredible day it was! We had a fishing experience we will never forget. John has both fished and guided on the Gianinetti property for decades and knows every foot of it. The water is a spring creek type fishery consisting of a narrow stream with a series of pools. With John’s subtle coaching and suggestions, we caught so many fish we lost count. These fish were not tiny little brook trout but huge rainbows. We did the ¾ day trip with Harcourt Fly Fishing which meant that lunch was included. John is not only a superb fishing guide and charming companion, but also a fabulous cook. He brought out his portable grill and cooked us a delicious lunch of pork tenderloin sandwiches, Caprese salad, mixed green salad, watermelon, and lemon bars along with Arnold Palmers to drink. If you are looking for a unique fishing trip in the Vail/Aspen area, call Harcourt Fly Fishing in New Castle, Colorado and fish Springs Creek Ranch. You will not regret it.

Allen, thanks for taking the time to write your review. It is truly appreciated. The Spring Creek Ranch is so much fun for me to guide on. There's so many big fish to catch. Hopefully, we can do it again. Harcourt Fly Fishing has a saying "If you do something twice, it should become a tradition". Best Wishes and Tight Lines, John

I would like to share a story about how I was introduced to Harcourt Fly Fishing, and Surprisingly it wasn’t even in Colorado! Our Paths crossed in Pheonix Sky Harbor after our third delayed flight and hours in the terminal, everyone, started loading the plane. I was the last person to board and noticed a briefcase under a chair in the terminal. The bag tag stated HARCOURT FLY FISHING in NEW CASTLE. The flight was heading to Grand Junction, and I knew the chairs that were full were now empty, and I pulled the bag onto the plane. I understand that these acts are highly discouraged with TSA, but the flight attendant called out, and the bag was claimed. I felt great about my good deeds. The gentleman seemed pleased as well, and all around it was a win, but wait, there is more!
After the flight ended, Mr. Harcourt waited until the plane completely unloaded ( I was the last one on because I was In boarding class 12 if there is such a thing, so I was also the last one off!) He thanked me again. We started talking about flipping bugs upstream, and he invited me to come to New Castle and fish with him ( as I call it, to get an education!) Well, today was that day, and karma treated me real fair, I.E., John helped me catch fish and learn a thing or two. The entire day, John put me on fish, and I had plenty of opportunities to catch fish!
Life lesson even longer, Do the right thing, Book with Harcourt Fly Fishing if you are in the market for a guide, also treat people well, you never know when your fortune may turn into a fishing trip!

Thank John! Hope to see you again soon.

2 days on the river with Chris Burgeson second time fishing with him. My uncle and I with Chris' expert knowledge of the river and hatch caught a ton of BIG fat hard fighting fish. If you are thinking of fly fishing in the Glenwood area these guys are defiantly the ones to go with.

Fished with Dustin for two days, one on the Colorado River near New Castle one at the Gianetti ranch. Both days were fun. Caught a few on the river and quite a few at the ranch, one caught by my wife was a truly memorable sized rainbow. Dustin is a knowledgeable guide and does a great job of putting you where the fish should be. Does a great job of fixing lunch on the river. The grilled chicken was excellent.

We spent the morning with Dustin and had a blast. My wife and son caught more fish than they ever expected. Dustin is a great guide and fun to be around. We choose the private ranch experience for 4 hours and were happy with the choice. Having little experience with fly fishing, Dustin explained and coached us professionally. Note: this was not a technical fishing experience and perfect for a novice.

What an awesome experience on the river with our guide, "Doc." It was my first time fly fishing and I even caught a couple fish on our 3/4 day float! Doc is an expert rower and is so knowledgeable about the river, the fish and the history of the area. He was kind and so patient even though I hooked him, myself, some rocks, and the anchor . . . more than once. And he has some wicked line untangling skills to boot. My boyfriend has more fly fishing experience and Doc gave him some tips to catch even more fish. All in all a great day!! Highly recommend. We will be back for sure!

Spent two full days fishing. Beautiful river; the weather was great. Unfortunately, the fishing was dismal to non-existent. I chalked it up to just a couple of bad days. Then I read the river update for the week posted on the website. It said the fishing was 'red hot.' I'm confused. And disappointed.

We had a great wade fishing day with Isaiah. He’s super nice and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about stream fishing while we were catching lots of fish! A perfect combination! Thanks, Isaiah and Harcourt Fly Fishing!

We were in town for a couple of days and I decided at the last minute to try and do a fly fishing trip. Looked on the Internet and found this outfitter and decided to give him a call. Dustin called me back pronto and I told him what we wanted to try and do, and he made it happen even though he was booked himself. He called one of his other friends and he was willing to do the float trip. Mike Whitfield came and picked the two of us up at our hotel and 6am and we where on our way. Mike was a GREAT GUY and very professional and patient with the two of us. He was prepared to hit the river immediately, because he had gotten everything ready the night before. We learned a lot from him and had a FANTASTIC TIME and even caught several nice rainbows. I forgot to mention Mike actually drove an hour to pick us up at the hotel. If your in the area give Dustin a call and he will make it happen for you.

Also Dustin we met your dad at the takeout and he was a very nice fellow.

Great Outfitter and would recommend them to anyone who wants to fish in this area.

I went with Dustin down the Colorado River in March. You know its a good day of fishing when your arm is sore and you've lost count of how many fish its been! I'd wager that nobody else on the river that day got into as many fish as me, and thats all Dustin's expert guidance. The picture speaks for themselves.
