LOVE Bates Nut Farm!!! The expansive grounds are beautiful - great place for a picnic or just roaming around in the fresh air and sunshine. They have some sweet farm animals that the kids (or adults like me) can feed and enjoy. And their main store and Farmer's Daughter Boutique are a joy to experience. Delicious nuts and candies and lots of fun, unique gift items. Charming and just a delight to visit!! 😊

Long-time fan of the pumpkin patch. Great photo ops w the kids when they were younger, now w our dog. Always find a few holiday stocking suffers here plus something good to munch on while looking.

This place is fantastic! This time of year it was easy in and easy out with super service and a wide variety of items to choose from. If you don’t mind crowds and love the harvest season, October is the month for you! With a small petting zoo, a corn maze, and pumpkins everywhere, it’s family fun time. Inside the smells of fresh fudge, draws you to the back of the store where there is great arts and crafts, plus marinades and oils.

Bates has a lot of choices in nuts and candy. It is fun to look over all their gifts and nick nacks. They have some quality things to buy. Nice people and there is a petting zoo for kids.

A super fun way to spend a day outside. There is a farm area so you and your little ones can learn about animals. There’s a lovely general store to get snacks, drinks, and some cute momentous. During busy times of the year (think pumpkins during the fall) it gets so busy that it is a little uncomfortable. But if you can take that you will love it. If not, go any other times of the year. It’s a beautiful drive. It’s near the casinos if you wanna check those out as well. Palomar Mountain is close by and you could even continue east and take the long round about way out to Julian for a full day of fun.
