Several galleries and local artist works shops. Croweded in July. I'd had lunch and was disappointed I didn't feel like I had time/calorie limit to try the soda fountain. Go to the Carmel gallery.

This is a very small area, so there's not much here other than a couple of restaurants and shops. You'll spend more time on Donner Pass Road where most of the the Old Town lies.

We explored the stores and cafes in the charming area of Stockton. This area is in the Commercial Row and Jibboom Street area. Parking can be a hassle at times.

Nice for a stroll. Quite a few shops and many cafes/restaurants. There is free parking next to the Beacon station/store. Free parking all thru town before 10 and after 6 (good for the breakfast and supper crowds). Small CA visitor center in the train station....More

This is a fun area to explore. Lots of shops and places to eat. It can get really crowded, especially during summer weekends and during winter ski season. Parking can sometimes be a problem, but it's worth a visit if in the area.

I didn't bother to stop. I did find a place at the end of town where there were some old train cars. I stopped in the lot, took pictures of them, then turned around and left town. Sorry Truckee, I didn't have any change with...More

Funky old town is a great place to stroll and enjoy a drink or something to eat. Can be crowded on weekends. Lots of different kinds of shops to stroll through. Don't miss the old fashioned variety store and the cooking shop.

There are a few neat old-west buildings (the jail is the best - the inside is open weekends) and the rocking rock tower is a nice view. Mostly it's a cute tourist town with cute tourist shops and tourist priced restaurants.

Downtown Truckee, old west town that actually had gunfights in the street and brothels on the back street.

Walking along Commercial Row Main street is a fantastic journey back in time. It will bring you to the "old West" from the wonderful places to stop in for bite. (Squeeze In) a must for breakfast then stop in at all the shops. Maybe stop...More
