I am from the San Francisco Bay Area and a lover of nude beaches. I was living in a new place (Eureka) at the time I went (2011, NOT 2018-2019) to College Cove and remember I had seen it listed in a Guide to Beaches of that kind and so off I went. Unfortunately it didn't come through like I thought it would (although maybe it was a nude beach after all??) but I still enjoyed myself; OF COURSE be ing out by the water in its unique configuration was a nice way to spend a day. I can't say much more given that this was 8 years ago but IT IS STILL a good place to go whether you are nude or not!!! JUST DO IT!!…

Accessible from above and below (at the right times), this is a fun an beautiful beach that gives a totally different view of Pewetole Island and Trinidad Head.

If you can make the road out to Shelter Cover, do yourself a favor and DO IT! Black sand beaches and the most stunning shades of blue ocean you will see on the West Coast!

Walked down from the parking lot to this very quiet spot and and had a picnic. I would recommend stopping by this spot.
