Welcome to Elverhoj Museum of History & Art
Welcome to Elverhoj Museum of History and Art, its a small but so much history and beautiful Danish Decor and rooms of the past and Style. This Museum is free, but they do have a donation box at the Museum…take your time to soak in the Art and History of this amazing Museum. They also have a gift store to purchase items, I purchased cook books and beautiful Viking Jewelry for sale ….theres a music art section at this time of the great movie artist’s photography of the 70’s not sure if its a limited time but it was pretty awesome….

    A Delight!
We did this on the last day of our trip to Solvang. We almost missed it and I'm glad that we didn't. This is a charming little museum and art gallery. The docent was very helpful and knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions about history and architecture. The pictures on the museum's website are what caught my attention. Check them out and if it looks like something you might be interested in, I highly recommend it! The art gallery section is separate and the day we were there was a photo exhibit of rock 'n' roll stars that we really enjoyed. This museum is a charming little part of Solvang and a great way to learn more about the history of the town. A delightful way to spend an hour or so.

A must see to learn about the history of Solvang as well as Vikings
Very interesting and well presented. Strongly recommend visiting this museum while in Solvang. Nicely curated artifacts and cool to walk through the home where one of the first settler families lived. Lots of Danish items that one would find in a Danish home, like the one that I grew up in! Docent/volunteer knew what to point out, although she didn't know the answers to a few of questions.

The Elverhoj Museum was the hightlight of our trip to Solvang. The history was so interesting. The exhibits were well done and there was a wonderful tour guide that was very pleasant, friendly and answered all our questions. It was free admission with donations accepted. It was easy to find in a quiet part of town. We are so glad we made it a priority to stop here. Small gift shop. Nice area in back yard with seating.

Every once in a while a traveler will stumble upon a small museum off the beaten path that takes their breath away. That is how I would describe the Elverhoj Museum - simply a rare treasure hidden in a gem of a town.

First, the docents are amazing and so incredibly proud and knowledgeable of their town and this museum. Their stories frame the mission of the museum very well.

Secondly, the building- an established home that has been converted to a museum - is simply stunning. There is a great amount of original homestead juxtaposed with artwork, historical photos, and antiques. A good portion of the home that was once an art studio, is now a dedicated space to others' artwork. When we were visiting there was a lovely sculpture display that was worth meandering and soaking. in!

Lastly, the gift shop. Oh my, what wonderful options we found. From stunning amber jewelry to the selection of books. I loved it ALL!

Make the ELVERJOJ MUSEUM a PRIORITY VISIT if you are bound for Solvang. So glad we found it - and we will be back!!

A special shout-out to the lovely docents and their generous sharing of their knowledge.

Must see! 30-60 minutes of Danish and Solvang history. Great to see another example of how the west was settled. Well done!

I am rating this site as excellent, as it is a must see if you are visiting Solvang.
Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff.
Very informative on the history of the area.
When we were there in March 2020 they had an exhibit of Rembrandt sketches which was an added bonus.
They also had some history of how Denmark saved many Jews during WWII, including a very well done short video.
