- Kevin VLincoln, Nebraska139 contributionsYou will not be disappointed. Wine and scenery are both great. We went here out of curiosity but were pleasantly surprised with our experience. The sculptures inside and out are amazing and the wines in our tasting were great, too. Our host was very knowledgeable and warm. Don’t miss this place. They are right with their slogan - it’s a “hidden gem.”Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 17 February 2024
- Bebe44Long Beach, California754 contributionsAn amazing day of art and wine in Paso!Just the most beautiful experience! As we were looking for something artistic & interesting, we came across Sculpterra Winery & Sculptural Garden. Amazing!! We have been to many wineries over the years but this by far was the most beautiful. Not only are the sculptures by John Jagger, Dale Evers & Bob Bentley (to name a few artists) fantastic, but the gardens, lighting, outdoor settings…..all extraordinary. Be ready to meander for hours in these gorgeous gardens & of course sample their lovely wine. It appears they have live music & festivals throughout the year, so we definitely plan to return. The winery itself is architecturally a beautiful building & the lighting spectacular.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 April 2024
- MadMac66Fullerton, California128 contributionsWine country with an artful twist, for all the familyVisited Sculpterra on our way to the Sierras. While I did not partake in the wine tasting, my wife enjoyed it quite a bit. The woman serving us and assisting us with the tasting and selection was very knowledgeable and really helpful. We bought a bottle to enjoy in our hotel later. To be brutally honest, it wasn't the greatest pinot noir I've had and it wasn't cheap. Although there were other samples on the tasting menu that were far better, but twice the price. So there's that. Outside, the sculpture garden is fantastic. We spent a couple of hours wandering the grounds. Some of the art is truly excellent. So even if wine isn't your thing, this place is worth a visit if you are in the area just to get some fresh air and stretch your legs. Make sure to walk through the vineyard up to the hammocks in 'Pauls Forest' for a very relaxing time-out in a wonderfully tranquil location. We'll be back and try a different bottle next time.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 April 2024
- John J159 contributionsA must visit!Wonderful experience. This is a destination winery with beautiful grounds, vineyards, and great wines. Take the time to hear the history during a tasting, then walk the grounds with a glass (or two) of wine. Both Iddy and Randi were very pleasant and made the visit even more wonderful. This is the only wine club we joined this trip, and we highly recommend making Sculperra a destination.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 June 2024
- mrslhunterAtlanta, Georgia21 contributionsBeautiful property Great WineWe loved this winery. Such a great way to spend a morning on a family vacation. Frazier was wonderful and as we had our tasting with him our teenagers were able to play ping pong. We loved the wines so much we purchased a case to be shipped across the country! After visiting other wineries in the area we were truly able to appreciate what a good decision that was. These wines were the best we tried during our stay. After our tasting we walked the property a bit and then sat down and listened to a live band while eating some delicious food from a food truck that was on site. All in all a great day. Only two things of mentions. There is only a (beautiful) one person bathroom onsite (one women one men). There is also the possibility that a private party can come and take all those cool games you may have planned for your kids to play…away. Our kids were kicked off of the game tables about 10 min after they got on and ended up coming and sitting at a table nearby us while we finished our tasting. Great spot though. Was still laid back place for them to sit.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 July 2024

The winery has a unique collection of sculptures all around the entryway and the winery. That is fairly unique, only saw that once before in Napa. There was music, wine tasting of course, and a great vibe. We went just before New Year's Eve, so it was fairly crowded, but that did not detract from the visit.
We would recommend it to any wine lover.

This is another family-run winery, the only difference from other wineries is its collection of interesting bronze and stone statues. Very friendly staff, serving an assortment of blended wines, Dog-friendly and a perfect place for a picnic under the shade of the trees.
There is also a bocci ball court and stone ping pong table. The gift shop has miniatures and replicas of the giant brass & bronze sculptures found in their garden for sale.
In the garden is a historic photo album wall of Paso Robles, dating back to the Spaniards. For dining, they have a food truck with a reasonable selection of dishes at a fair price.
TIP: Reservation times are fairly rigid, so book early and do not be late.

Gorgeous winery and wonderful wines. Randi poured the wine for us and was so much fun telling us tales about the wines and winery. This is a dog friendly winery and my pup loved the attention her got. The grounds have beautiful sculptures to admire. I would love to come back for one of the monthly events they host.

We were among a party of ten cousins having a reunion in Paso Robles & we came here for a little wine tasting. It was our favorite stop! We sampled a few wines in the tasting room which had very nice paintings and art work. The wine stewards were friendly (ours even knew sign language.)😁Each couple bought a bottle of wine and we sat on the outdoor tables on the lawn enjoying the lovely weather & wine. The proprietor made the rounds, too. Beautiful vineyards, setting, historical murals and quite a collection of sculptures throughout the property. The winery has a cute motif on their wine glasses which reads, “wine that gladdens the heart” with their signature sculpture of a cat with long whiskers. We definitely intend to come back here again!

Trish and I have spent almost a week and a half here in the Paso area tasting wines and experiencing the fruits of the area. We almost missed Sculptua here on our last day. Part of me is glad that we did save it for last as this was the absolute best experience, hands down.
The wines are exceptional, yes, but there is a lot more here. The ongoing saga of this winery is one to be learned and experienced.
Of course, much depends on the host at these venues and in this case our hostess, Randi, was unbelievable!! Knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate in what she does...always so highly appreciated.
We will be back!!!

This place is very busy on weekends. We had a lovely sunny day to view the free sculpture gardens. There are many places for children to play and run outside, explore the amazing sculptures. I was amazed at the size and detail of the sculptures. On weekends there is music and sometimes food.
The wine tasting is inside only in a over decorated room. It was very crowded so we decided to skip the tasting.

This is an awesome place to visit. Stunning artwork and sculptures greet you as you pull up and are also available for purchase. The wines were delicious and the people were awesome! A great experience and not to be missed on a day trip in Paso!

On a sunny day, the artwork is so enjoyable to see-it surrounds the building and is really a treat. I especially enjoyed the recently-added historical photos of the area on a huge outdoor display. The wines weren’t really my taste but I’d say you don’t want to miss a visit here.

It’s hard for me to rate this place. I liked everything, except the wine. It’s a winery so I have to base my rating on the wine right? Or maybe it’s just a nice park that happens to serve wine? In that case it’s a 4.
Overall, it’s a great place to come with your friends and family, enjoy the grounds, get some food if it’s the weekend, and drink some not so great wine.
We came early on a Friday so there weren’t many people around but they did have a Greek food truck on the premises. Normally the tastings are standing only but the waitress was nice enough to bring our tastings over to us in the sitting area outside. They probably wouldn’t be able to do that during a busier time though. Overall the service was friendly and great. As for the location, the grounds are well kept and the statues are great.
Now for the wines. They give you 8 wines for a $20 tasting, which is quite good. But most of those wines are quite bad. The style here is overripe and sweet. And I mean residual sugar sweet, not just fruit forward. These are both, and that made most of the wines rather off putting for me. The only one I found palatable was the Reserve Primitivo. I may have even taken a bottle home, but they don’t offer to waive the tasting fee for bottle purchases like pretty much every other winery does.
It is a nice place to hang out and relax. And if you’re not picky about your wine quality you might not even notice the sub-par wines.

We should have listened to people telling us not to come here, but we were intrigued by the art and decided to check it out. Upon arriving at the tasting bar, we were completely ignored by our server until she was done with another party, not even given a splash of something to get us started while she finished with them, about 15 minutes on a hot day. Once we saw the tasting notes, which BLATANTLY requested tips for the server (how tacky!) we were given miniscule tastes of some terrible juice. The Pinot Grigio was passable so I thought I'd get a couple bottles just to get the tasting fee waived. But unlike EVERY winery I've been to in my life (so, so many) they do not extend this practice. We got the hell out of there. And we'll warn others and stress that they must heed our warning so they don't waste their time and money on this debacle.

I am not much of a wine person but have always wanted to visit a winery for the beauty of them and this one looks so pretty with the sculptures and all. Is it possible to visit here without tasting too much wine? Maybe just a glass each and just touring the winery? Is there an entrance fee? We plan to go in a few weeks to see the light exhibition @Sensorio and visit the Mission and would really love to visit the winery.

Yes, it is free to walk around the grounds, including the sculptures and vineyards. My wife and I really enjoyed this aspect. The wine part of our trip was very enjoyable as well. We had an excellent host and we weren’t pressured at all to buy anything. We especially enjoyed their Viognier and did purchase 2 bottles, but again, there was no pressure to do so. I believe you can enjoy this winery on several levels.

We are absolutely kid friendly! Our owner, Dr. Frankel, always wanted to create a winery you can bring your whole family to. Most kids(and adults too) love seeing the huge sculptures of horses and cats and mermaids that surround our tasting room, but when that excitement wears off some of the activities we have to keeps kids entertained include: coloring books and crayons, table tennis, foosball, bocce ball, chess, checkers, educational videos in our barrel room, and free wi-fi.

Is the winery free to visit?
Also would kids (teenagers enjoy a visit?)

It is free to walk around and view the sculptures but the wine tasting is not free. If your teenagers appreciate art, then yes!

Please, who could tell me what the shade trees are lining the entrance walkway and throughout the grounds?
Thank you, Ruth

Hi Ruth,
Your first guess was exactly right! They are Chinese elms. We also have a lot of fruitless plum trees and white oak trees, but the shade trees throughout our garden are indeed Chinese elms.
Thanks for asking!
