Neighbourhood: Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

Great food. Live music. DTLA

Always love catching shows here and the food is great. It's in the heart of DTLA and a great spot to hang with friends and either eat and drink or combine with live music. Great either way.

Best surprise in LA

When you walk into this place, you may wonder why you are there. This is a pirate dive bar. The atmosphere is not at all elegant, but the prices are inexpensive, the drinks are good, they have a long happy hour and the food is outstanding!!!! I ordered a chicken Caesar Salad and it was the best salad I have ever eaten. I travel a lot and have been on cruises and many other gourmet dinners and this salad outranked them. The salad was tossed with exactly the right amount of dressing and I usually don't like a lot of dressing on my salads because it seeps all at the bottom. The chicken was grilled to perfection and the croutons were homemade. Others in the group ordered the burgers, fish and chips and other entrees. Everyone raved about the food. The guy who ordered the fish and chips said it was better than the ones his wife was raised on in England. Seriously, this was the best food I tasted at my time LA. On top of all that, the bartender made it fun and made sure you were served. If you want a fun, relaxed meal, this is the place for you.

Happened to be walking around downtown L.A. And decided to go in for a beer. Normally if you said to go visit a pirate bar, I would run but this place just sort of works. I didn't have any food, just two beers but everyone was nice, the food smelled good, and they had a nice selection of CA beers on tap and just about any liquor you are looking for. Also a very friendly bartender, lots of local folks hanging out after work, there's a band playing later. I liked it.
