The drive to this beautiful and nicely maintained course, located near the Valley View casino, from our Carlsbad timeshare was a bit far. The staff was friendly and helpful. The carts’ not equipped with GPS. The course, with its many bunkers (e.g. hole #7), posed many challenges for high handicappers. Water came into play at many holes (all par 3, and #10). “Rough is tough”, we were told. Once a errant ball strayed sideway, it’s typically a goner given the abundance of dry bushes, gopher holes and even a deep gully (#16). The green was rather hard and less forgiving. The high temperature (100 degrees) added to the challenges.
