Time of year

Some of the trails were very difficult to hike up and/or down due to bikes and rain. My husband almost fell once.
Don't allow bicycles on the trails! The bike when the brakes are applied hurt the trails. When we moved here 20 years ago we took our first hike at Daley Ranch within a month. The trails were in relatively good shape. I don't think bikes were allowed there at that time, but soon afterward this changed. It makes me sad to think that this wonderful place has disintegrated into a "bike park." It has become a fairly dangerous place for older hikers. When hiking I have to stop to look around: otherwise my eyes are always on the trail we're on they are so bad. We have some great photos of ponds that the Spring rain has made so I would go again just to see the lovely scenery on that trail (I don't know the name of that trail, but one year we also saw thousands of tree frogs there.…

Lots of trails to choose from. Hike to dispel cabin fever! Enjoyed our time here! Pick up a map at trail head. Parking lot sizeable. Families galore and pets.

First it must be said we never got past the gate so this review is about access and the Daley website than the actual Ranch exploration. The maps at the website show multiple entrances with actual street names into the Ranch. Unfortunately when we arrived as visitors excited to tour the Ranch house and prepared to have a picnic on the grounds, we found a barricaded road and learned the only access to the miles of Ranch beyond was walking. One of us is handicapped so we were unable to access any of whatever the Ranch and grounds has to offer. This is definitely not an experience for anyone with limited mobility. If you have a dog on a leash they are welcome on the grounds. That is another reason we chose this outing. We were mostly interested in touring the Ranch house though one had planned a short hike. Live and learn.…

Wonderful system of trails over varied terrain. Many are steep and rocky. Mountain biking allowed. Leashed dogs ok. Limited facilities at Daley ranch, bathrooms at nearby Dixon lake.

Love hiking here, the trails are east to follow and there is nearly always someone! somewhere to ask if you get lost. Moderate hikes available the start 10 mins are the hardest..
