The San Diego Safari Park was very disappointing to me, it is huge but if you are not going to be the extra money to do the extra expensive activities, it would feel like the most expensive hike through the trees, not much of animal encounters, and most of them are very far that you won’t actually see anything. Okay, so maybe I made up a few animals...or did I?…

SD Safari Park is a top notch tourist spot. I have to rank them much lower than usual for their lack of face mask enforcement. Since you are walking by others frequently on the trails, mask use is important. I think I overheard two employees ask visitors to get their masks back on, but many of the exhibits has a few maskless visitors wandering around without a care. There simply was not enough staff in these areas to enforce mask usage. The worst thing I saw took place in a common area, near a restaurant. There I witnessed a park security guard visiting and giggling with a visitor. During this encounter the visitor had no mask as he proceeded to carry on a lively conversation. He was even shouting for his family a noticeable distance away. I thought the security guard would at least enforce the park's own rules. Again, the park is wonderful place to visit, but you might steer clear of you are concerned about Covid-19. I've had much better experiences with safety protocol at Downtown Disney and Knott's Berry Farm, so there is a better way. …
