Interesting and quiet. There are the remains of three houses that are still very recognizable. There is good explanation on site especially with the booklet we could borrow from the reception. It is nice for kids too because they are allowed to run around :)...More

Went to this site after it had been raining. The site was a tad muddy but it was well worth the visit. Being able to see the Minoan site was fantastic and actually being able to walk through the buildings was pretty awesome as well....More

Though tiny by comparison with the better known Minoan sites Tylissos benefits from being well presented, accessible and easy to understand. Also you will not be overwhelmed by tour groups!

Tylissos Archeological site is small but nice and the workers are still digging for more history. You can not take pictures from their workplace, but it is not problem to take pictures of the rest of the site...

This site is approximately 1/2 hour from Heraklion out towards Rethymnon. It has a particularly interesting water cistern and some good pithoi.
