I saw Finnkirka from my hotel room, and I have also been close to this beautiful stone structure in a boat, and on shore. It is amazing, and it feels like being on another planet, because of all the special stones lying around on shore....More

At the end of WW2 the only building left standing in the tiny town of Honningsvag was the church. Inside the church are photos showing the destruction of the town. The people are very proud of their heritage in Honningsvag because of the townsfolks determination...More

It is well worth the walk to see this beautiful but very simple structure. This church is the only structure on the entire island to survive the German occupation and the Nazi's distraction during WWII.

The only original remaining structure to survive the devastating fire that burned down the town during the German occupation. Well cared for and collecting for a new organ. Atmospheric and peaceful.
