Nothing modern about this place. Everything including streelamps etc. are as they were in the 1600´s. Lots of things to see and visit and good eateries also. A unique experience if you have a couple of days. Interesting by day and intriguing by night. Bring...More

This is a very quaint and well preserved town to stroll through the cobbled streets. It's pretty small with a limited selection of things to buy so you won't spend much time here. Wouldn't go out of my way but worth a stop for sure.

This quaint little town is well worth a visit. The cobbled streets are a joy to meander along, and the buildings and little shops are brilliant to mooch around. We paid the 3 Euro entrance fee to look around the Collegiata de Santa Julians which...More

Visited this town on the way to Santander. Well worth a walk around to see the lovely buildings in this town. Park in the nearby car park for 2 Euros for 3 hours.

Quaint old town, very busy, tourist shops everywhere. The place has a nice feel about it and there's plenty of parking nearby.

This is a beautiful historic town - a bit spoilt by the tourist shops (inevitably) but looking beyond this aspect its character etc gives a great insight into how life must have been even up to 50 years ago

Santillana del Mar is known as the city of the 3 lies: it's not saint (santa), not flat (llana), and it doesn't have a sea (mar). However, its old town is lovely to visit, especially during low season when the narrow cobbled streets are not...More

Who doesn't enjoy sitting in a tiny cafe, sipping wine, in a square filled with cobblestones and watching the local pedestrian traffic. Gorgeous flower baskets hanging from the buildings. I loved this town.
