If you visit Garachico, a swim in the Caletón is a must. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited!

Go snorkeling here!! If you get into the sea at the biggest pool and start swimming outwards, you will see dozens of types of fish, crabs and sea urchins. All these are among spectacular rocks. Be careful, the waves are strong!

We went midweek. It wasn't crowded. Parking was easy in the backstreets. What a wonderful place this is - beautiful and it was so much fun jumping into the water (which is extra bouyant), and then enjoying the rise and fall of the sea. The...More

Found out about Garachico & the pools through watching Korean reality TV, Youn's Kitchen. The pools are pretty cool as they are creates by volcanic rocks. It's really busy though so can get pretty oppressive. There are a couple of changing sheds and a shower....More

These pools are delightful but it seems they are too well-known. The car parking is impossible so we had to park in a prohibited place. The restaurants are pricey and not at all inviting. This place needs to try a little harder if it wants...More

Pools were great fun, lots of little fish in the shallow pool. Great if you have reef shoes but not necessary, ground is smooth enough. Time your visit for lowering tide if you have small kids so waves are not splashing over the edge. Deeper...More

Parking is a big problem. The views are grand. The ocean could be rough but the natural pools formed by lava long time ago are mostly calm and inviting. There are no showers here and you have to bring your own towel with you. There...More

What a lovely spot! We were only here briefly on this occasion, as part of a day coach trip, but seeing these natural lava pools was definitely one of the plus points of the day. Some were very gentle, with barely a ripple in the...More

Rivulets of lava, with a little paved help from the village and the EU, have created a good spot from which to bathe, or to look at coastal fish temporarily trapped between tides, or just look out to sea or up at the mountains.

This is a must for people who love to swim. It's a beautiful place with the AA lava surroundings and its many pools. Just remember that if there are many big waves I the ocean that some pool may be closed. When we where there...More

If it is open for swimming, depends on weather and tide. It can be closed on short notice if the life guards say so. But since it is already quite cold in summer, I could imagine that it is even colder in winter, and you may... More

Sorry, I'm not sure as I was there in the summer. You can check the weather on the day but you are not allowed to swim if there is a wind. When we were there, the wind was strong and no-one was able to go in specific area... More
