Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Found a stunned Coal Tit in the centre of Limerick city on the footpath. Took him in so he wasn't trampled on by anyone. Rang Animal Magic who didn't hesitate to come collect the poor thing. In the end, he was just stunned and managed to fly away after about 2 hours. Animal Magic drove all the way from Kilmallock to Limerick City to save the bird, showing how passionate they are about wildlife and it's wellbeing.

We had a great family day out. Rosie and Denis have a great knowledge of all the animals and obviously care for them really well. Our kids really enjoyed meeting all the various creatures - reptiles, birds and mammals.

This was the best experience! We met so many beautiful animals and Denis and Rosie were great! We brought our 3 year old son who loves animals and he got to touch a skink, a chinchilla, a rabbit, owls, and lots of other animals. Then we got to do a little 'falconry' with about 5 birds in their small back yard. And then we got to watch Denis fly the peregrine falcon! We will never forget what an amazing experience we had.

When you combine a passion for rescue and falconry you have the best of both worlds! Dennis & Rosie have an amazing commitment to rescue, rehab, and training birds and other wildlife.

We loved every minute spent here! Quite an education and such a delight to have a personal encounter with these amazing people and the birds!

They have a bunch of adorable Irish Wolfhounds too!

Visiting Denis and Rosie and their many animals was the highlight of our trip. They were welcoming and warm, and we all learned a lot and loved our time at Deebert Cottage with both humans and animals. They also gave us a tip to visit a nearby Abbey that we really enjoyed as well. Well worth the trip!

As the title says, this was an amazing experience. We had a family group of 27, so Rosie and Denis came to us. They brought a number of birds and let each member of our group, both young and old interact with the birds multiple times. We were originally scheduled for a certain time and date, but unfortunately, about half of your group had flight delays that would have caused them to miss this. Rosie and Denis were very gracious to reschedule so that we would all be able to participate. They clearly care deeply for their animals, and shared information about each. I could not recommend more highly.

Animal Magic/Ballyhoura Falconry was the highlight of our 14 day British Isles cruise!! We used About Cork Taxi Tours to reach Kilmallock. Animal Magic is run by a couple, Denis and Rosie, who are passionate about rescuing and rehabilitating injured birds and wildlife. Their compound is very nice and filled with birds and small animals being rehabbed. They also raise Irish Wolfhounds. If you are looking for the best falconry experience/education about these beautiful creatures, this is the place!

I visited Dennis and Rosie yesterday with my two sons aged 8 and 13 and found their commitment to the animals in their care inspiring. They were so generous with their time and had encyclopedic knowledge about all the various animals and birds. My children loved the experience and diversity of creatures they got to hold and interact with. Animal Magic is a hidden treasure that offers a truly authentic experience and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. David.

We spent several hours with Rosie and Denis at Animal Magic. It's a bit off the beaten path but worth the drive. They are caring and kind people who educate and honor the local wildlife. We were able to interact with birds of prey and owls. So many other creatures heal at Animal Magic as well (hares, swans, egrets, ducks...the list goes on). Loved meeting the huge Irish Wolfhounds. Spectacular. I wish them all the best and I am a better person for having visited them.
