This is a great beach. Crystal waters, great snorkelling and a couple of beach bars for a frappe. Sand and shingle along the shore line makes for an easy entry into the sea that gently slopes so great for kids. The beds were 5 euros...More

Thanks to the large stretch of the beach it doesn't become crowded, meaning that most of the time you really don't have other people crawling all over you on the beach chairs. Let's face it, you go to Plakias in order to get away from...More

A lovely beach & resort...... no high rise, corporate hotels or the like; just great Cretan hospitality. Nice (longish) sandy beach, a few rocks & boulders near the 'boaty end' but then hey, that's why you're on a boat 🙄 Plenty of sunbeds & parasols...More

Plakias beach is at the bay head, long, curved, sandy, and partially protected by the mountainous cliffs that embrace it. The beach is also partially shaded by tamarisk trees (salt cedars, almariki in Greek). Shaded sitting areas with beach chairs, and umbrellas on the beach...More

A clean sandy beach with crystal blue water in south Crete! Nearby there are a lot of beach bars and greek restaurants (tavernas).

Yes! Also easy from Heraklion too. Just need to see which flight times suit you; then make the judgement call of which airport you fly to..... you can book your taxi online if you prefer. Easy 😎
