We enjoyed walking in this beautiful historical town and discover the remains of old fortification which is well preserved. At most of the gates you can find a sign with the name of it and a few facts about its history.

Just wander along and follow the walls and fortifications, in better condition than a lot of modern structures. Impressive.

This was a short visit as we were on a Rhine cruise and had docked in Andernach. The town wall and fortifications were excellent and extremely interesting. We wished we had been able to explore the town further.

Enjoyed a few hours wandering around this nice old town with its imposing towers and high defensive wall remains. Plenty of good info boards around the wall sections.
