I loved this zoo for two main reasons. The first is that for the most part the animals live in naturalistic enclosures, not cages [yes, this did occasionally prevent me from seeing some animals]. The second was that I enjoyed watching human animals, i.e. Mexican...More

This was a spare of the moment visit as the sumidero was closed as it was Tuesday. A great three hours of walking around looking at the well cared for animals. But! A word of advice if you have a spider phobia. They are everywhere....More

You'l find only state fauna within a beautiful nature reserve. Enclosures tend to be all natural and allow you to see the animals within a setting that is very close to their natural home

Huge enclosures here, from many of which the animals could seemingly come and go. Natural setting and foliage ensures cool temps in warm weather. The founder's love and attention is obvious to those who visit.

This is a 2.5KM walking zoo at Tuxtla Gutierrez, good for an afternoon with the kids, but consider wildlife for the zoo is focus on local animals, so it might be something different and interesting, but nature is also something to appreciate.

This is one of the best zoos I've attended. Exhibitions centralize on the local Chiapas fauna. Setting is gorgeous and animals roam free in their exhibit space. Some of the them such as deer, monkey and guaqueques (rodent type mammals) roam free. Great for kids...More
