We stopped here for a supposedly swim in the first blue hole on the trip north but the mossie invasion put us right off!.The area could do with a bit of a make-over too.

Paddled here from Turtle Bay Lodge. Worth the paddle as you go upstream from the lagoon. Water crystal clear and tree canopy overhead and peace and quiet of the Bush is amazing. Then you get to the blue hole and it all goes up to another level of amazing. The color and clarity of the water is incredible and snorkelling around looking for fish is great. The rope swings are lots of fun too. Altogether an amazing place!

Matevulu blue hole is a hidden gem! We were met at the entrance by a very friendly local collecting the 500 VT entry fee. This guy was so excited to show the four of us around. He also encouraged the best way to get in, via the rope swing! So much fun and the clearest, deepest, most refreshing of swims was enjoyed. For the more adventurous there is a ladder up a tree on the opposite side of the swimming hole with another rope swing. Access to the water is easy via steps into the water so even if you don’t choose to jump in feet first, you’re catered for. I’d highly recommend this place for a refreshing swim.
