Church on Sunday in Tonga is a must. The singing brought tears to our eyes. The choir is one third of the congregation & fills the church. All are dressed in their Sunday best-high heels, long skirts, makeup, earrings-a beautiful sight.

I was in a Sunday morning at Holly Liturgy. The church was full with people(locals and foreigners). I liked very much the church and the people there.

Not much to do on Sunday in Tonga as most businesses and shops are closed. St Joseph ‘s Cathedral has a great service on Sunday morning . Well attended with beautiful choir and hymns. Very friendly locals. All smiles and Tongan time slow moving but...More

We went to Sunday morning service here. Don't be late, actually, be early because it is a full building with some sitting outside. Most of the service is in Tongan so we did not understand most of it but the singing was amazing! Really worth...More

Interesting to see the large statue of St Joan of Arc. Well worth a quiet visit. Remember to take your shoes off when entering. Rest room down below.

Old and pretty church. we opened a side door to see inside because the front was locked. Spent only about 10 minutes before wandering into village.

Sitting a top of the town it overlooks a great area, but not overly impressive. With Tongan standard of building it does stand out however.

The white painted tower of the cathedral dominates the Neiafu bay and I soon walked up to have a good look. The sound of trumpet practice came from the buildings alongside. As I peered at the stained glass above the altar through the glass screens...More

Very white and luminous, a facade like a child's drawing, its stained glass windows decorated by the iconography you would find in primary school books back in the 1950s. Great location over the harbour
