We stopped here on a car trip around the island. Very pretty much more attractive than on the other side of the island! The tide was getting low so we walking on our hands when snorkeling but it was enough to see some fish...sadly a...More

We tried a bit of surfing but the surf wasn't really big enough to avoid being scraped on the coral. But snorkelling is good and if you're brave go through the surf and behind it you will get better coral gardens. Also i thought head...More

We took a taxi which cost us $40 for 4 of us. For those who don't like getting in the water, just do it. It is cold when you first get in but worth it once you start snorkeling. Sadly most of the coral is...More

The day we went was pretty rough, but still sheltered enough for a good swim and snorkel. Recommend taking the reef shoes, plenty of fish and marine life to see.

This is a public beach accessible via a 5min walk from the main Hihifo road. We caught a bus there and spend 3.5 hours under a tree with frequent snorkelling forays into the water. This was at low - mid tide. These is a shallow...More

Heilala where we stayed is situated here, very beautiful and safe swimming because of the reef. Lots of fish to see while snorkling, water temperature was really warm

There is a bus 6 days a week. Goes both ways. Get precise directions before you go. The bus will go straight along the main road and then you will need to walk a little. Times for buses are variable I suspect. Many of the... More
