Been through frecklton many times but never stopped so we took our dog to be clipped and decided to have a walk round the village and were surprised how nice the village was and the memorial

On 23rd August 1944 a USAF Liberator Bomber which was trying to land just down the road at Warton Aerodrome landed instead on a School killing a number of pupils, teachers, & others

worth doing some research about the world war 2 airplane disaster and seeing in conjunction with the war memorial and the group grave in the church yard
