This Citadel belongs to the former king of Iran Karim Khan Zand. it was used also as a prison during a period in the past. another must see in Shiraz.

Its located just at the center of Shiraz and it was a former jail since two hundred years ago.Dont miss “Faloode shirazi” near that.

The citedal is located in the central part of the city with a spectacular outside view but inside is not very attractive. Although it has been renevated it still needs lots of repair to be a good tourist attraction.

There is not much inside the castle but it worth to visit once. It’s better from the outside. Maybe you should take a tour guide to explain you the place
