Came with family to stay at the adjacent hotel. Although the castle was shut we still enjoyed exploring the beautiful gardens and woodland walks.

Unfortunately castle museum closed,but enjoyed the lovely views and surroundings and would be stunning in the spring and summer the daffodils gave a lovely Welsh welcome swaying in the wind. Great car parking facilities,well worth a visit.

Great shame that we could not look at the castle as seems to be closed and no one can tell you when it will be open again. Nice to walk round the grounds and the park land is very extensive and make enjoyable walking.
First time I've made a visit to the castle and will 100% return, what a lovely place, the gardens are very well kept and great play areas for both the kids (2 and 4) really blown the cob weds away...... loved it!

We got married at this venue in 2003 it is an incredible place with its formal gardens and fabulous castle . This hotel is delightful for lunch or evening meals if you do not want to stay in the hotel which is also a spa....More
Visited the grounds on a Saturday morning for the parkrun. What a stunning building from the outside, with lovely views towards the far hills. The grounds had fabulous trail paths (part of the parkrun route). If I came again, I would stay to look round...More

We are certainly disability friendly with wheelchairs available if required, plus a lift to the first floor to enable you to visit the WW1 exhibition presently on display, plus the illusions gallery. There is a second floor, with the Lowther room and an Edwardian/Victorian classroom which is not accessible.
Registered assistance dogs only are allowed onsite due to the nature of our attraction.
