Overview
More
Barmouth developed as one of the major ship building centres in Wales during the 18th & 19th centuries. The harbour still has a small fishing industry but is mainly used by pleasure craft. The estuary is home to Merioneth Yacht Club. Lining the edge of the harbour are cafes, ice-cream parlours and a pub with pleasant gardens to sit out in and watch the world go by.

This is quite a small harbour, but it is still an interesting place to potter around, especially if you have a boat or small dingy. Plenty for the kids to do with crabbing etc.

A changing harbour between the tides. Sea or sand ~ you take your pick. In fact unless you have a tide table, you get what you get. Its all lovely anyway. In winter it was fairly deserted, how I like it. It was around Christmas...More

A beautiful harbour with views of the mountains, Fairbourne, and Barmouth bridge in the distance. Grab yourself a coffee or any other drink you fancy, sit down and just take in the view.

Barmouth Harbour, well, yes, it was a busy Harbour, now sadly, there are just a few old Yachts bobbing about on their moorings. The only regular boat is the little motorboat ferrying a few people at a time across the estuary mouth. At low tide...More

All the fishing boats have long gone, the harbour was a great place to go crabbing, with clear waters and clean sand. Now, it's silted up with mud, no crabs, the muscle beds have gone. In the peak of summer it's full of leisure craft...More

sorry for delay had problems with my password I cannot think of any rooms in the area with balconies. A sea facing room is the best you can get -check on TripAdvisor.
