Fantastic

This place is amazing. Even if you don’t like the candles (which you will) it’s good to buy them to help support people who would’ve struggled to find a job somewhere else.

IF ONLY!
Sep 2019
the visit had been longer! If only it hadnt been 70miles from our cottage!...this is one of those places (and doesnt happen to me often) that when I get there something just says "lets stay a while"! I cant tell you what its like when its raining, the sun was out in force upon our arrival in Sept 19. we had a walk around, bought refreshments and ice creams (the post office opposite the harbour is good for ice creams) and just enjoyed all the surrounding of the water, hills/mountains, gift shops, theres even a Tesco here and free parking. One of those most lovely places that have to be visited if you are ever around this way, come and enjoy. Theres also a ferry terminal here too

It’s a great enterprise as provides work opportunities for vulnerable adults. Good candles too and they smell great.

Fantastic little shop

My husband and I are both nurses that specialize in both children and adults with limitations, so this shop was a must place to visit. The candles are great, the scents, shapes and colors, and are reasonably priced. The workers were very proud of their crafts and were anxious to answer questions and show us how the candles are made. We bought several for ourselves and as gifts, and we will definitely go back when we return to Ullapool next summer. Take a few minutes and stop in. You'll be glad you did!

Great range

Also signposted as 'The Candleshop' this social enterprise is located on West Shore Street, above the West Highland College learning centre - close to the ferry terminal. There's a great range of colours, shapes, sizes and scents - often in interesting combinations.Reasonably priced gifts.

Pine cone candles are really lifelike… because they’ve made their own silicone moulds from a selection of locally found cones – so not the pristinely regular factory-made shapes you’ll see on sale elsewhere. Another interesting product is the firelighter blocks made from wood shavings and left over wax – great for those with open fires/log burners.

The quality of the products speak for themselves, but the volume is increased by knowing that you are supporting a group of local people with physical/learning difficulties who would struggle to find employment and enriching activities in such a rural local without the volunteers and trade support of this social enterprise.
