Come and enjoy this delightful museum which tells the story of West Norfolk. Meet Horace the taxidermy tiger in reception! Be amazed by the Bronze Age timber circle known as 'Sea Henge' which is the museum's stunning centrepiece. Learn about the people who meticulously crafted the timbers and study the marks left by their bronze axes. Browse around the 'West Norfolk Story'. Marvel at gold coins concealed inside a cow bone since Roman times. Imagine being a pilgrim in the thriving medieval port of King's Lynn or riding on a magnificent Victorian merry-go-round. With thousands of fascinating objects, interactive displays and audio guides, there's plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Family friendly events and museum trails throughout the year. Changing temporary exhibition programme, see website for details.

Often take my grandchildren to the museum especially in the winter months as it’s free, educational and child friendly. My two are autistic and love the treasure hunts and all the exhibits.

I work in Central London right next door to some of the world's greatest musems, but am constantly impressed by the quality of museum in some of the UK's smaller towns. The Seahenge exhibition was suitably atmospheric; a great way of showcasing this unique find...More

Thank you for your comments. We currently have no plans to change the current Seahenge display. However, we keep visitor feedback on record and would take this into account when discussing future changes. Many Thanks, Sophie

The home of Seahenge, the museum is full of interesting artefacts many of which are pertinent to the local area. Coffee and cake for £1 on the last Wednesday each month with the opportunity to make something fun makes the museum even more welcoming.
