Tiny beach
Sep 2021 • Friends
Nerja is a lovely place but the beach area is tiny for the number of visitors. So if beaches are your thing then you might want to pick another destination.

Playa El Salón
Jan 2021 • Solo
El Salón Beach is one of Nerja’s larger beaches with over 200 meters of sand and surf. This beach generally won’t be extremely overcrowded as there is only one way to get to the beach and the access road can be difficult to find so it can be a nice quiet place to relax and listen to the crashing waves of the Mediterranean Sea.

Central Beach

This beach is more or less in the centre, it was pretty close to our hotel the plaza cavana. Nice beach and not too busy when we visited.

Beach is great location but small

This beach has a great location. However there are no amenities. I much prefer going a bit west of town for much better beaches and amenities.

Favorite beach
Sep 2019
This was my favorite beach in Nerja--not very crowded and the sand was so soft. The water had a sand bottom as far out as I swam. The shore has great stones for skipping! It was more peaceful than Playa Burriana, and not rocky like Playa el Chucho. Also, you can explore the "cave" area at the east end of the beach--very cool!

Beautiful beach

We love this beach...visited lots of times. Hidden away down an alleyway from the Balcon Church square. Quite steep bank but ok for a pushchair. A few toilets, showers and small kiosk for snacks. Sometimes get very big waves and do need to watch children as water gets deep very quickly. Very clear water. Church bells toll above you.

Lovely beach

Could not swim any day with raw sewerage floating up to shoreline. We had to pack up & leave as children wanted to get into sea .

Great location

Middle of town location so only takes minutes to get to . Even though it is not the largest of beaches it never gets to busy even in the high season.

This is a great location to chill for the day.... Right in the centre of town to access the beach but worth it.... Not alot here really now have sunbeds to hire at a cost... No cafe etc, so take a few bits down with you... Look at the houses built into the rocks that were once upon a time all lived in permanently. This was the original Nerja..... We visited here 12 years ago and still a great place..

Lovely beach, bit of a trek
Jul 2018 • Family
Beach is in an ideal location as it is in the centre of town! Has a bit of a steep hill to walk back up from the beach itself, but well worth it as the sea is often calm and clear.
