The ruins were now form part of a Parador and some parts were poorly maintained which was a pity as it was an impressive structure . The Cordoba gate was quite run down and sadly the Parador had installed covered car parking which totally destroyed...More

Currently, only the part that has been restored to become a hotel can be visited. However, from this summer onwards one should be able to visit the ruins as well, making the hike there much more worthwhile.

It included a triple arch and dogleg entrance. Within the arches there seem to be residues of some form of decoration (red). The arches give access to the parking area of the Parador and the reception

When staying at the Parador, this is nearby. The experience of moving through history, while moving through architecture is something very important.

A Carmona highlight, this ancient fortress now houses one of Spain's scenic 'Paradors' (state-sponsored inns), complete with elegant rooms, a gorgeous restaurant, and a patio 'coffee bar' with a cliff-side view that shouldn't be missed.

It seems as it was built yesterday, very well kept, and furnished to the last detail. The restaurant there is excellent, you will fell as part of the gentry of the era.

This attraction along with the rest of Carmona is worth visiting during a trip to or from Seville. There is a marked tourist route to walk through the streets of the old town up to the fortress and there are some lovely views at the...More
