You need warm clothes. Wild beach, strong wind, the biggest waves, skyline, no people, true ocean, high-peaked rock.

Surf in September was breaking less than three metres and parking within one kilometre of lighthouse (farol) is limited, however, it is cool to be within sight of where the biggest waves haunt the earth in January

Sea, sky and a huge sand beach, surrounded by trees. No buildings in the area. In particular, the view over the beach from the lighthouse is valuable.

The only reason I can't give the North Beach (Praia do Norte) a 5-star rating is because if you don't have a car it is challenging to get to, and there are no services here such as a cafe, washrooms etc. Please make an effort....More

Renown location of mundo waves speaks for itself. Well worth the 90min drive from Lisbon. Enjoy a long walk along the coast or a brisk dip in the Atlantic. Make sure you make it up to the fort for the history of the location and...More
