Free admission to a really loveley church amazing that it was built in such a remote place.
The church clock and bells are very good......there is often traditional music played live in the nearby town square.
Very nice old church right in the middle of the old town square. The ceramic frescoes and the altar are absolutely amazing. Parking is possible in the small street near the church with a bit of luck. Bring a good camera for the visit.
When in O Sitio, its worth stopping here. A well preserved old church on a huge open square. Inside, it is very ornately finished, and looks stately. There was an entrance fee to go upstairs, but we did not do that
As the hubby waited outside, I toured the church. For 1 Euro, you can tour "behind the scenes" parts of the church....in particular the upper Nave. Now I know that the priests see! Interesting collection of wax body parts that were given to the church...More
