This museum is in Idar, there is another one in Oberstein. Note these are two separate towns. The museum had a great collection of gems and fossils on 4 floors. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

The whole family enjoyed this museum after a visit to the mine and the tour of the weiherschleife. Very interesting and informative and value for money. English audio guide available for extra 3 euro p.p. and photo-permit 2 euro per family.
