    Fantastic family adventure
We did the 3-day tramp as a party of 10 with 6 children (aged 9-13). We had a fantastic time, the huts and extra touches were really lovely. Good tramping terrain but not too hard for the children, in amongst beautiful native bush. Would highly recommend sponsoring a predator trap at the end to continue the good work that is happening on the station.

Outstanding experience in the North Canterbury hills
An truly fabulous experience suitable for family groups. The extra touches and the accommodation really made it. We had a group of 10 of various ages and everyone enjoyed it. The rivers, scenery and birdlife are amazing. Thanks for sharing...

Go for it, you will love it, we certainly did.
We were a group of 8 friends; these guys really look after you. We started with a great meal including whitebait fritters ! The huts are well appointed , facilities are terrific, health & safety are paramount. Its a great spot & very doable for all ages & stages.

Did the self-guided two-day horse trek. Facilities for visiting horses were a bit rough. The horse trail is mostly stony/gravel roads, would have been nice to get off the farm/forestry roads a bit more, but the countryside is beautiful, and human accommodation well set up.

A group of family and friends completed the trek from 3 to 6 January 2024. It was perfect - exactly what we hoped for and more. Shaun and Hayley are amazing hosts and joined us for some food and a few drinks on the first night along with the spectacular farm tour. We had a couple of fit people but most of us were average to below average fitness which was no a problem.
The walk itself is not too difficult as the tracks are well maintained with rest stops just at the time you need them including a shelter with hot brew equipment.
The camps are great - all totally different but with everything you could need including hot showers and cooking facilities. Some privacy is also available which works well for a big group like ours. Everything was spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable.
The fact that all your gear, including food and drink, are there waiting for you when you arrive makes it great for socializing - our group certainly took advantage of that!
We had 2 dogs with us which is almost unheard of in the NZ wilderness. Their accommodation was also perfect.
Thank you Shaun and Hayley - we will be looking for an excuse to come back!

We did the 3 day walk and it was superb. Each camp is very different but well thought out.
While the track is rough, as described on their website, a lot of work has gone into the many drains and bridges so that you keep your feet mainly dry even with significant rain. That is of course dependent on having waterproof boots or shoes.
The quirky little signs along the way were also appreciated.

Great tramp. Amazing track, really comfortable beds and such good attention to details. I was unexpectedly walking it alone as my tramping friend has COVID, but felt very safe out on the trails.

Amazing walk, epic scenery, fabulous facilities and topped off by super hosts. I really cannot recommend the walk more highly. Had a fabulous 3 days with a bunch of ladies. Hosts Shaun and Hayley have really thought of everything right down to the small details. Absolutely loved the thoughtfully designed hot showers...could do with one at home they were so good. It's a must do which you will not regret.
