Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked back in April, received my booking.
Had no contact from the company . Turned up September 22nd 2023.
Did not know the caverns have been closed for a while! Yet still accepted my money and booking.
The company have had months to inform me that the caverns have been closed and refund me. But obviously chose to ignore and keep my money.
Disgusted that they failed to inform me and cause me a huge inconvenience for our group who were really excited about going on this tour.
Reading up about why they are closed. Doesn’t sound like they took care of safety issues.
Still advertising tours
Don’t bother booking!!!

This was a fun place in its day but very tired now. Apparently, they've gone through several owners in the last few years and all have different ideas but none have done anything. It's right down the road from the turnoff to Havasupai Falls so it could be a pretty cool place. At one time, it was. It has all the kitschy stuff you'd expect, an old abandoned service station and non working pumps, a restaurant...closed of course, an old putt-putt course in bad disrepair and cool metal dinosaur replicas. It was pretty full of hikers for the Falls so it's getting business. I know getting help is hard but having that restaurant open could be a good money maker. Having a good early breakfast and lunch bags for the hike down could be a nice way to get more business and having working pumps would help too. However, that will cost a lot of money. The rooms were tired but clean and serviceable. The only food is a beer and burger place at the Cavern and it tasted pretty good after our hike out. It's a decent place that could be pretty cool but probably never will be. The actual Falls check-in is located at the hotel.

The cavern was closed, allegedly due to mechanical problems. By the looks of it, the closure wasn't recent. It was frustrating that this fact wasn't on the website, nor was that indicated visibly at any point on the 1-2 mile dirt road. Only learned it was closed after we got out of the car. So we backtracked to the main hotel where there also was a small sign in a window you couldn't see from the driveway. The hotel/ convenience story didn't have much and seemed frozen in time. The woman inside was nice enough though.

Four of us took the tour, we had David as our tour guide. He was very informative. We took the long tour instead of the shorter one. (You can get a AAA discount or a senior discount). We are seniors in our mid 70’s and I will admit a couple of spots I was beginning to tire, but we forged on through. If you have the time it’s worth it. After, the women bought some jewelry, and then we had a root beer float. The root beer float was nothing to write home about, but their hamburgers smelled terrific.

This is a unique cave since it has an elevator that takes you into the earth several hundred feet, and then has a combination living room and bedroom where you can spend the night for a fee.

The normal fee is about $20 for the 45-minute tour of the cavern and naturally when we go there the elevator was 'broken' and no tours were happening. But, 30 minutes later there was a 'fix' and we got to take the tour. Being there over 30 years ago I totally forgot about the number of stair step and uphill ramps that one has to navigate, and thus I and my partner ended up paying for the 'long' tour, and doing the 'shorter shortcut' tour.

The tour was interesting, but since this is a 'dry' cave as opposed to a 'wet' cave it is NOT as spectacular as many others. You will get to see the Cuba Crisis supply dump and the giant sloth as well as the bedroom. Taking pictures is a problem as the lighting is not conducive to picture taking; you will need a flash for most photos.

You should bring water with you, as no food or other drink is allowed in the cave. You do need good shoes that allow for up and down hill climbing. The guide was nice enough but seemed to be in a rush, and if you were not at the front of the line you may miss much of the narrative that is provided.

Inside the building are some dinosaur skeletons and a history of the cave and the area, in over a dozen languages. Outside there is a children's playground, and there are several interesting, and spooky displays on the grounds, as well as a dinosaur crossing and several dinosaur mockups. Plan on spending about 1.5 hours for the tour and other activities at this old Route 66 Mother Road location.

For those who have a private aircraft, there is an airfield. For those with an RV, there is ample parking.

Very, very Interesting place but out tour guide was too much of a comedian for me. Instead of explaining things he continuously told joes, even though the group didn't encourage him.

This was an enjoyable tour, just under an hour and not strenuous. The caverns were very large, with just a few tight spots that might intimidate the claustrophobic. Excellent guide, interesting stories about the caverns and their history.

WE learned that one of the local First Nations / Native American Tribes recently bought the property. This attraction would be even better if they introduced some of their history, including their current and past relationship to the land and the caverns.

We have been to many caverns all over. This is one of the few dry caverns ( as most are wet ) in the US, so don't go expecting to see stalactites and stalagmites as they are not here, just know that in advance. Overall, very beautiful cavern and history lesson.
One point I must make is that they desperately NEED to state on their website that they are located on the main highway and NOT down a gravel road where ALL google and GPS systems tell you to go. We BARELY made it on time for our tour as we were directed down a gravel road only to figure out that wasn't right. As we were waiting for our tour to begin their phone was ringing off the hook with several calls from people who were on the same gravel road we were on looking for the place.
All of this confusion could easily be cleared up if they would post this on their website and the ticket info that they e-mail to you. So that is my only gripe.
We did enjoy our tour, but felt the guide should have left his mask on for the entire tour instead of taking it off and on.
They do have an underground cafe that I would have loved to have eaten at, but it is only open on the weekends. You can also reserve overnight lodgings inside the cave which would be REALLY cool, but rather expensive.

In interesting adventure that you probably wouldn’t stop at if just driving on the old US 66 and saw the road billboards..the caverns are 1 mile off the highway on a mostly paved road.. The caverns themselves are a dry type and the largest in the US…different from Carlsbad and Kartchner in Az..so it is a different experience taking an elevator down 235 feet to enter..attractively lit and 2 large rooms connected by paved sidewalk..interesting stories due to storage of rations from 1950s bomb shelter use and the unique way concrete was gotten into the cavern so low.. stayed at the suite overnight and truly a unique experience to be the only people in an entire cavern overnight..no TV or cell signal but an old 78 rpm phonograph with numerous old platters..nostalgic ..food comes down as room service, but the whole experience very very pricey (it was a gift)..bucket list type of experience and they quote famous people that have stayed there..very romantic setup for the suite, but temperature of 59 degrees is an impediment..staff is wonderfully accommodating
