We went by ourselves and not sure if we even found the best viewing of it. It is probably best to have local knowledge of the area to see it at its best. The elevated views of the coast are fantastic.

Drove up there, but would be a good hike if we were overnighting in Lalomanu. The view is spectacular, in fact Taufua beach fales has cabins up there if you prefer it. You get driven down to the beach main house for meals though. We did this a couple of years ago but not this time as this was just a day trip.

This is a pleasant cultural tour very close to Litia Sini or Taufua Fales in Lalomanu. We went with a guide from Litia Sini, very cheap ( 10 talas pp ) We just hopped in the back of his ute and 10 minutes later we were at the crater. It is a quite steep 10 or 15 minute walk through the bush from where the ute stopped, but the view from the crater at the top is amazing. A big colony of Flying Foxes lives in the crater, which is covered by native bush now. We walked back to the car and the guide showed us how to husk a coconut, gave us all some to eat ( yummy ! ). Then he took us on another 5 minute walk through a Taro Plantation, told us all about how it is grown, and then showed us how to climb a Coconut tree. The views over the coast from up here were great, took heaps of photos. Very enjoyable tour.
