Siva Afi Cultural Show - Fire Knife Dancing, Traditional Siva and Dinner

1 review
Experience an exciting side of Sāmoan culture at Siva Afi’s cultural show. Thrill at the spectacle of the modern ailao, a style of fire knife dancing that traces back to the battle dances of pre-colonial Sāmoa, and enjoy a traditional performance of the graceful Siva Samoa dance. Before the show, sit down for an authentic Sāmoan feast prepared especially for you. Make sure to book in advance: with one show a week and limited spaces, you don’t want to miss out!

Thank you and a big Faafetai Tele Lava Chris for supporting Samoan and Pacific Cultural Art both whilst visiting Samoa and by ordering from us through our online store. Samoa is a lovely country to visit anytime of the year; the sun is often warming in its embrace even behind cooling rain clouds and we are always on Island time with smiles on our faces. It is our pleasure to welcome and to serve you. Manuia!

Janet's is one of the leading quality souvenir shops in Samoa. They serve quality but be prepared to fork out for it. Beautifully crafted souvenirs and island inspired jewellery are found here. They sell lovely local artwork as well as neighbouring islands clothing. You won't go wrong here with presents for family and friends. It's an experience just to walk through the shop. Stunning stuff.

Thank you Gladys for your lovely email. We are so grateful that you spent the time to appreciate the many treasures by scores of different artists from Samoa and around the Pacific who all contribute to our Cultural works at Janet's. Over 30 years we have done our best to support the Cultural Arts and create a sustainable pathway through which it can continue to grow, energize and empower our Samoan Culture whilst giving insight to the Archaic technology and ingenuity of our ancestors. Thank you for taking the time to immerse yourself in the passion a labors of our pacific artists. Your support and satisfaction is the best thing we can hope for! Faafetai Tele Lava and we hope to see you again in the near future.

Lots of different items with surprisingly high price tags. Shirts, dresses, earrings, some quite tacky tourist paraphernalia which looked like it was made in Indonesia. Market cheaper ... though not the variety.

Talofa Olive, Thank you for your review and for noting the variety Janet's holds. I must note to start however that we do NOT varnish our products, in particular the wood. We buff, sand down and polish our locally made cultural artifacts, you may unfortunately be confusing our products with the many other products you would have seen in Samoa. Our visitors who spend time looking through our entire range often marvel at the variety (as you say starting from simple souvenirs) and the quality of our products. We take pride in housing some beautifully made products, truly one of a kind and made in Samoa. First time visitors to Samoa who are more readily accustomed to the bargain basement prices and products of places such Indonesia may wonder why everything in Samoa is not priced equally as low. It really comes down to the quality and uniqueness of our cultural works and also the living wage we pay our artists for their hard work and talent. Please keep in mind that cheaper priced goods are cheaper for a reason. You get what you pay for. We hope that you enjoyed your experience in Samoa overall as there is so much to do and see in our Island Paradise. We hope to see you again in the near future on your next holiday, thank you!

Taloa Lyn, Janet's is proud of both of our recently opened Cultural Outlets at the Sheraton Beach Resort and the Sheraton Aggies Grey's Hotel in apia city. Sheraton Hotel and the Aggie Grey's Hotel is a legend in hospitality and it is with great pride that we serve Sheraton visitors and showcase our Samoan Culture. So happy that you enjoyed your experience and loved all things coconut! You will be pleased to note that Janet's first got its start 30 years ago when our founder first began making coconut earrings. We now offer a range of coconut based products including beauty and health products based on organic coconut oil in our LOVE PACIFIC range. And we do agree with you the local coconut jam is amazing! Hope to see you again on your next visit to Samoa and Sheraton

Talofa and thank you for dropping us a quick line on trip advisor. Janet's holds very popular gifts for children such as our kids clothing line (range starting from 30 AUD), kids jewelry (range starting from $5AUD) and let's not forget our coconut magnet range with the kids always gravitate towards :) . All our kids gifts are Pacific Made and once again we must stress that we have a very large range of gifts and products (by far the most extensive on Island) which cover the entire range from quick buys to unique one-off creations. Please let us assist you next time and our friendly staff will give you a nice tour of our offerings to make your retail journey more easy and informative. Thanks again and hope to see you again soon.
