Great trip. Goes up to 4,200 m. Unfortunately nowadays it departs/ends at San Antonio de los Cbres (from Saöta you are transferred by bus); train section could be longer (as in former times)!

but it was notb worthwhile to visit. The way until the ruines of Santa Rosa was very good and interesting, but the way from there via San Antonio de los cobres was boring. And at the end - just the Bridge

Long trip, great people, excellent guide, lousy food. Really took almost 12 hours and 2-3 hours were on unpaved roads.
